We could fall as low as 7th or go as high as 2nd. According to Yahoo standings, we got kicked to 5th.

I think we'll end up getting the 4th spot, HCA 1st Round, and face the Blazers. What do you guys think?

4th seed would be ideal, as the Jazz also sucks these days and has little chance to jump over Blazers and Hornets to get the 5th seed.

3rd seed would me more ideal.

That means Denver or SA most likely would be 2nd and play the Jazz...which is good because we don't want to play the Jazz.

then the 4th seed...if the Spurs get the 4th and we get 3rd it would be perfect. Lets be real, the only team that has a shot at beating the Lakers are the Spurs. Spurs would be doing us a huge favor if they beat the Lakers..and since we have the 3rd seed we avoid the Lakers as long as possible.

Even though we'd still have to beat tough teams. I'd like our chances if we get the 3rd...play Blazers or Hornets in the first...then play the Nuggets or Spurs in the second...in a perfect world Spurs elminate the Lakers, and we avoid the Jazz and play the Spurs in the WCF.

awesome analysis, thanks a lot. I think we should focus on the first round before planning our trip to the finals, as the Hornets and Blazers both are not easy to cope with.

I said..."Even though we'd still have to beat tough teams." I meant every team in the West.

But there are two teams we should avoid...the Lakers and the Jazz.

By placing 4th, even if we get outta the first we most likely meet the Lakers barring some miraculous greatest of all time upset.

By placing 2nd, there is a good shot we play the Jazz.

I'd like the team take the 3rd, meeting Hornets in the opening round, Spurs in the second, Lakers in the conference final and Magic in the final. then we would celebrate our third NBA title in late June. :D
