    Pick one and state why.

I chose Luther + Swift + Wesley + 2006 Unprotected 1st as my limit, anything else, depending on what else we get back, would put us too far behind in talent, possibly cap space, and youth.

I wouldn't give up that much, especially the 1st pick which is almost certain a lottery pick. Luther+Wesley+Mooch+2nd pick. Pacers was considering Maggette who may be a life long limp, they are not that greedy.

anyone but Yao and TMac. Preferably not Head--I'd allow any of Alston, Stro, Wesley, Howard, picks, whatever before Head--..but if that's the only way the deal gets done, then Head is fine too. Hopefully enough depth is left for a late run this year..otherwise next year w/that big 3 and whatever fillers we get..wow

True, but keep in mind from the Artest Alert! article, Chris Sheridan said that the Pacers aren't really interested in any of our other players, plus we may have to play ball with another team or two to get this thing to work!

It's funny the attachment people develop for our rookies. Head's doing well and looks like he'll be a decent NBA player, but a deal-breaker?

Anyway, I voted No Artest since that's closest to my opinion. Truth is everyone has a price, and if his went down far enough, I'd take him (until his contract expired at the longest). Wesley for Artest, I might do. I wouldn't give up Swift even though I think he needs to be traded anyway. Howard I would consider only for cap manipulation concerns; on talent no way would I do that and I don't even like Howard. I'd rather not trade Head or Alston either. Sura would be dicey. I'd give up Mutombo instead of Wesley. Baxter, Moochie, Barry, and the other scrubs would be like getting him for free. I'd give up our second round pick, but not a first rounder.

If we gave up Stromile Swift, we'd be sucking at PF/C. Not that Stro is the end/all be/all of players.

I'd give up expiring contracts plus our 1st rounder. If the 1st rounder falls outside of the Top 8, I'd add in a couple of 2nd rounders OR a future 1st rounder (within the next five years).

If Indiana wants to win now, you offer Luther + expiring contract (Wesley) + our 1st rounder.

Indy isn't the one taking our players (at least not most of them)

you're making a whole bunch of assumptions about others here.

Head is a potential deal-breaker (though I said I'd include him if *absolutely* necessary to get the deal done) because our guards are OLD. Sura's close to done, Barry will retire, Wesley's gone after this year, DA probably after next if he can go that long...so at this point we have Alston (who's kinda mid-range) and that's it, if we deal Artest.

We have TMac at the swing and Yao in the post as obvious mainstays. I think we need something in the backcourt

I picked "Anybody but Yao, T-Mac, and Head"

I feel that if Ron Ron turns out to be too much of a headcase and we regret getting him, losing Luther would be too much.

I kinda consider Howard our 3rd option right now, so I'd be most inclined to throw Howard into the trade mix. Plus, he makes a pretty penny. Howard + Wesley + draft picks to get Artest and whoever. That's the direction I'd try to go.

I would like to know who has picked 'Anyone is expendable'. Ron Artest is good. But to think Tmac and Yao are expendable for him is just insane. LIke what many people have pointed out already, he might not even be around next season.

I picked anyone but T-Mac and Yao. I really like Heads play but i think the rockets only have a few years to get the title, and im not sure that Head is going to get the playtime to help us that much until a few more years.

Howard, Head and the 1st round pick is as far as I would go. The only reason i'm willing to do that is because of the relatively weak draft class and Ron's contract being cheap. It is risky if he acts up but he could be a success if he wants to play.
We don't have the resources to get him IMO and if he doesn't come to Houston it's not the end of the world.

anyone except the big two and rafer.

say what you want but this team looked completely different with a competent pg running the offense. if we give up rafer in the deal who will bring up the ball? T-mac? we all saw how his (t-mac) game was much better if he wasnt the primary ball handler.

as much as I loved Luther if it means getting a proven all star and DPOY for him i would trade him.

anyone but tmac, yao, and our pick. i wouldn't want us to give it away for ron, then learn that tmac might or yao might have to miss a lot more games than thought and still miss the playoffs.

I believe the Rockets have been showcasing Head for just this type of opportunity.

Anyone but Yao and TMac ...

    Are you me? :p

I say the same thing about Rafer all the time. And I would trade Luther in a package for Artest any day, but I would be sad to see him go nonetheless. If we got a starting pg back, I'd give up Skip though.

put me down for the Yao/Tmac/Head option. I'd throw in Howard too, even though he's been playing good lately . ..

I'm willing to give up Head if we're going to get another young SG packaged with Artest. Like someone in the mold of Fred Jones or whoever...Anyway, if its true, its going to bea 3 or 4 team trade...

Really??? Which healthy guard has he been taking minutes from? :D

I say anyone but Yao and TMac. Anyone else is expendable. If this weren't the case, wouldn't we have a better record right now?
