    I am interested in seeing what denomination everyone is here, and what our makeup is.

    I have guessed on several, but don't really know. I wonder what the percentage of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Agnostics, etc are here.

    Thanks for participating.

    I voted agnostic because it's the category that comes closest to defining my religious beliefs, but I'm Jewish too. And, in ways that are considerably less than literal, I am also a little bit Christian and a little bit Buddhist.

    Me too Batman, I voted Agnostic but I was raised Methodist and think the good parts of the religion are great, just don't believe the whole story of Jesus as the son of God etc.

    Speaking of which, I finally got to see The Da Vinci Code, thought it stunk big time, probably Tom Hanks' worst acting role in recent memory; the girl with him was horrible as well. The movie reminded me somewhat of "National Treasure", except that movie had better acting and a more compelling script.

    Now that I have managed to derail the thread ;) , I am Muslim (not that I've made that a secret in the past), but I think you would be surprised DaDa at how diverse Muslims on this board are. You have FD Khan, you have Stack24, you have myself, you have Jackfruit, and you have adeelsiddiqui...I am not sure any of us agree on very much in terms of politics/economics or even Islam itself, we all probably have different interpretations/views of the religion.

    Roman Catholic ..... and as contradictory as it sounds, I'm for letting a woman choose whether she wants to have an abortion or not. And I have never agreed with the church's stance toward contraception.

    I am a Protestant Christian. My Parents are Catholics, most of my family and friends are Catholics or some other form of Christianity. I am a little leery of some of the other Christian denominations like the Mormon Church and Opus Dei, though. Not that I have any personal animosity towards those particular denominations--I just think there somewhat cult like in their recruiting practices--and I've heard some bad things from people who used to be former members of those churches...They can't be as warped as the Church of Scientology, though, could they??

    thats because tom cruise is a higher level of scientology than you are.

    he can talk to animals and move objects with his minds.

    he's basically the love child of jean grey and scott summers.

    I kind of make it up as I go :D

    Actually
    I'm a very Questioning person who grew up Christian
    Baptist actually [surprise]

    I left to be an Agnostic
    now I'm working my way back to the Christian faith
    I find I am having a deeper understanding
    by having left and come back
    than
    staying in the whole time

    "The ancient Poets animated all sensible objects with Gods or Geniuses, calling them by the names and adorning them with the properties of woods, rivers, mountains, lakes, cities, nations, and whatever their enlarged & numerous senses could percieve.
    And particularly they studied the genius of each city & country, placing it under its mental deity;
    Till a system was formed, which some took advantage of & enslav'd the vulgar by attempting to realize or abstract the mental deities from their objects: thus began Priesthood;
    Choosing forms of worship from poetic tales.
    And at length they pronounc'd that the Gods had order'd such things.
    Thus men forgot that All deities reside in the human breast."

    "I must invent my own system, or be enslaved by another man's.
    I will not reason & compare: my business is to create."
    --William Blake, Jerusalem (1804)

    I'm part of the Buddhist/other area but more so on the "other". My higher calling is P.A.G.A.N. but ever since Joe Friday and Pep Streebeck ruin things for all of us, things haven't been quite the same. :(
