I listen to podcasts all day while I work and am totally hooked. What does everyone else listen to? I'm always looking for more. Here's my current list (they are all weekly): Music: Drum & Bass Arena Hospital Records (drum & bass) Beatport drum & bass Beatport house Technology: TWIT (This Week in Tech w/ Leo Laporte) Macbreak Weekly Windows Weekly FLOSS Weekly (open source software talk) Tekzilla (reminiscent of a Tech TV show) Diggnation - (top Diggs for the week) Humor: You Look Nice Today (described as a Voltaire reference meeting toilet humor) Smodcast (director Kevin Smith and friends banter) Other: Wine Library TV (step up your wine knowledge, even though the host is annoying) iFanboy (comic book talk) Are there any sports podcasts worth listening to? I figure it's better to just listen to sports radio because the podcast may be out of date by the time I actually listen to it. How about NPR podcasts?
I listen to mostly fan podcasts since that's what I work on and some writing and comedy podcasts. And I will listen to the podcasts that people I know work on. Here's what's in my catcher. Soccergirl, Inc Geologic Podcast (those two sort of go hand in hand ) FireflyTalk The Signal The 9th - Heroescast (these last three are the ones I work on) I Should Be Writing Variant Frequencies Anything by Scott Sigler or J.C. Hutchins (and most of the stuff by Mur Lafferty) Slice of SciFi Podculture (I used to listen regularly to these two, but I haven't lately) The Weird Show I think that's all right now. I had a bunch more, but I have been burned out on listening to them this summer and instead have been listening to music. I will probably subscribe to some of the ones from people I know for the winter.
Listening to it right now. Good recommendation, it never occurred to me to check out city-centric podcasts. I'm subscribing.
That one led me to one that I loved that I haven't listened to in a while... http://www.coverville.com/ Edit: and one I will be subscribing to right now!!! http://franktruth.noebie.com/
For shame tinman. No Attack of the Show podcast? I certainly thought you to be an O. Munn kind of guy. http://www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/podcasts/5/G4_TV__Attack_of_the_Show_Video_Podcast.xml
This is so cool, I'm listening to your Heroes podcast right now Hayesfan! I'll watch some Firefly before I jump into the Firefly podcasts. Also checking out Phil Hendrie, who my friend has been raving about for a long time.
I subscribe to over 100 podcasts so I'll only list the ones I never miss. The brain science podcast (dry presentation but fascinating subject and highly recomended) Twit Slate daily Vital Signs (discover magazine weird medical stories) PC Gamer PC Mag PC Perspective Nightline 60 Minutes News Hour with Jim Lehrer Washington Week Mclaughlin Group Popular Mechanics show This American Life The Economist Time Business The Onion Radio Countdown with Olberman Libervox free book of the month The Naked Scientist Lots of NPR stuff, college courses like philosophy, rhetoric, physics etc... via UC Berkley
LOL did you start at the beginning? I swear we get better!! We've been on "hiatus" with the show gone for so long, but I will have something up late tonight that we recorded live from DragonCon. Dang! You're like my friend Mark.. he's got a TON that he listens to. I have problems keeping up with them so I leave and come back and leave and come back to a lot of them.
Bobby Bones - that's it. I get overwhelmed by searching for podcasts to listen to. there's so many! It's intimidating.
Go to someplace like podcastpickle.com and pick a topic you are interested in. Then subscribe to some of the more popular ones. It's likely if they are at the top of the list that they can't be all bad.
You will NOT regret it. You know the whole premise of the show, right? If not, it could be quite an experience listening for the first time. Good LORD, man. Do you EVER take your iPod off??
I started w/ the last one, which seems fitting (reviewing the first episode of Heroes). Well done! Good quality too, are most of you in the same room or all of you conferencing in? I might start from the beginning now...but I'm looking forward to the DragonCon podcast! I've never been, I'm jealous. I do, but I would probably never realize it unless my friend told me. I'm just amazed at how good he is at doing it, it sounds so natural.
Business The Disciplined Investor - best stock market podcast Fast Money Pops and Drops Jim Cramers Lightning Round Games Totally Rad Show - My fav The 1up show Project Lore 1up yours TWIT Gametrailers - Invisible Walls Gamespot - The bleachers - sports video games Gamespot - Hot spot Macbreak weekly Sports MMA radio fantesy football guys For the most part I listen to podcast that last longer than 20min. I use I-Tunes and my I-Pod to listen to them on the go. Because of Podcast, I have canceled my cable and spend more time listening and watching podcast.
Didn't TWIT have the guy from The Disciplined Investor AND Dave Ramsey on the same show? Looks like I'll have to try these two out. I also watch much of Leo Laporte's live webcast.
Andrew Horowitz is the guy who does the Disciplined Investor and he will do TWIT sometimes. I don't ever remember Dave Ramsey doing TWIT but I used to listen to his podcast all the time. Dave Ramsey has a good podcast if you want to learn about personal finance. I see that you are a revision 3 guy, how come you don't watch the totally rad show? I think it is the best show on their network.
