What players on this year olympic team would get decent playing time on the dream team? This year team has tons of athleticism but the dream team had everything, real scorers and real consistent shooters. The only player I could see getting a little of playing time is lebron, only because of his size, kobe would not play because of MJ and magic....I could be wrong.. What players you guys think would actually play?

You really can't make this comparison they played in different generations so anything could happen.

It's a tough call comparing different generations of basketball plus some of those guys like Bird and Magic were near retirement and on the decline so it's easy for me to say a Chris Paul or Deron Williams would have been a better fit but obviously not a better player than Magic.

Too many variables in a comparison like this. I could argue that LeBron, either already is or will be by the next Olympics, better than everybody on that team ever was with the exception of MJ, Bird and Magic. Not that I necessarily feel that way but it's a route you could choose in a discussion such as this.

    Over Laettner? No, not possible!

I agree though it's a different era - since big men are not really that important in Int'l ball anymore unless they shoot from outside and the calls tend to go against them I don't know if Ewing or Robinson would get as much PT - I mean Tim Duncan was ineffective and I think he's at or above their level.

    out of the current team...

    kobe

he is the only guy who has the same competitive desire and is as fundamentally sound as the original dream teamers.

man imagine if Hakeem was a US citizen back in 92...they would be killing teams by 60 points instead of 46
