Excluding Cato, which player that has played (or is playing) for the Rockets has been the biggest waste of money (spent money on contract)?
IMHO- Scottie Pippen - big money - little result-then complained - giving us no trade value for him. We spent huge money on this guy for no return. 2nd -Glen Rice- 8.5 million per year- he has contributed little, after injury - will be Feb. before he gets in any kind of game shape. He is no better so far than Walt - very streaky. Both are a huge waste of limited resources.
Matt Maloney. At least everyone else is either playing for us, or we got something in trade... Next, Pippen, because we got stuck with Cato and Williams. Then, Cato, although if we could get him a psychiatrist or personal trainer, maybe he can still turn into something... Then Moochie... I can't believe we signed him to that much, although it was probably more to keep Francis next year. I think the jury is still out on Rice. He's a shooter. He'll get his stroke back. And then in 2 years, he'll have trade value for someone trying to get under the cap before his contract expires, enabling us to add another piece to the puzzle. And if he gets his legs back, he'll be a perfect fit for us the next couple years until Morris takes his place.
