I hear a lot of people compare Francis to Iverson or Marbury. Personally, He kind of reminds me of young Tim Hardaway, but with hops. Here is some stats. ________MPG FG% 3P% FT% Reb APG TO PPG Tim(89) 33.7 .471 .271 .764 3.9 8.7 3.3 14.7 Steve 35.5 .437 .330 .794 5.1 6.5 3.9 17.6 that is all for now. ------------------ Is it any coincidence that the Wizard has a NBA team named after him? Or that that team is owned by evil incarnate Jordan? I don't think so ... A larger athletic Zeke. Mango ------------------ It could be worse ....... you could have been born a Jazz fan!!!!
Francis3, Glad that Rudy and I agree. Does Francis3 agree? Mango ------------------ It could be worse ....... you could have been born a Jazz fan!!!!
He kind of reminds me of Kevin Johnson in his prime. The little guy had some serious hops too. ------------------ www.rocketzone.web.com
he reminds me of Matt Maloney, but darker complected, more athletic, and with game. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
can someone post some Isiah stats? He has Isiah's interior passing instincts. That's what sets him apart from the other hopping dribblers.
The great thing about Francis...he has the potential to be better than any of the players listed in this forum. Well, maybe not Zeke, but who knows. ------------------
Here are Isiah Thoomas's CAREER numbers... FG% 3P% FT% Reb APG PPG .452 .290 .759 3.6 9.3 19.2 ------------------ Is it any coincidence that the Wizard has a NBA team named after him? Or that that team is owned by evil incarnate Jordan? I don't think so ...
Isiah always thought he could hit that 3ptr didn't he. I meant to ask, can anyone post the season-by-season stats of Isiah. Got to be out there somewhere.
K.J. ------------------ We have a 50/50 chance of winning our next game, but there is only a 30% chance of that.
Francis reminds me of this kid that came out of Maryland. He only played a year there, so people may not remember. He played the 2 there, so when he came to the pros, there was a learning curve for him to get past. After that, though, his athleticism and passing eye came into focus. Anyone remember this guy's name? ------------------ rimbaud post-a-thon 2000
I think Steve and Isaiah is a good comparison. You know what Zeke used to say? "I could score 50 a night if I wanted, but we would lose" Now that is the kind of PG I want on my Rockets. DaDakota ------------------
Azim...just got confirmation on the 13.9. That was the NBA record until Stockton broke it twice with 14s.
Here's an appropriately titled book to compare Francis to Isiah: <IMG SRC="http://www.artmovement.com/images/franchise.jpg" BORDER=0> btw: here's a review of the book. It is supposed to be an excellent read. The author was allowed inside the brain trust of the Detroit Pistons for an entire 1988-89 season, which happens to be the season they won the first of their back-to-back titles and also their first season in the Palace. You see how the team chemistry is blended, how the trades are pulled, how the GMs think, how the college talent is evaluated. You learn how franchises try to entertain audiences and just how much of the NBA is a money-making business. You see how Pistons' GM Jack McClosky tries to win a title, without trading away the future. You see how beat writers try to pry stories out of players who give generic answers. You see the locker rooms and how players interact with one another at practice. You learn the REAL reasons behind the Adrian Dantly for Mark Aguirre trade. You see how McClosky agonizes over the coming expansion draft, knowing he can only protect 8 of the players in the the Piston's 9 man rotation. You see the rookie camps and how guaranteed contracts sometimes count more than talent. You see how McClosky built a team specifically to beat the Boston Celtics. In other words, you learn all about the behind-the-scenes workings of a championship-caliber NBA franchise. ------------------ The farther the Rockets move down the standings, the farther I move down the bleachers. why are people talking crap about Isaiah? he only won two championships and is one of the 50 greatest. to compare Francis to him is a big complement. btw, i do see some similarities between the two. if you've seen Isaiah play, you know that he has the athleticism to dunk on some guys, he just didn't try it all the time like Steve does. BUT, i wouldn't say Francis reminds me of him. Thomas' biggest asset was his ball handling, which I think Francis needs to work on. I like whoever compared Francis to the early KJ. if you watched KJ in his early years, he was the quickest guy in the league and he dunked on just about every center in the league. he was quick, athletic, good outside shooter, so he could score on anybody! i think that's a more accurate comparison, let's just hope Steve doesn't get any injuries like KJ got... ------------------
I don't think anyone here is talking crap about Isiah. ------------------ The farther the Rockets move down the standings, the farther I move down the bleachers.
