I'm running Windows 2000 Professional. Unfortunately I can't play some games on this OS and am thinking about going back to 98.

I dual-boot WinME and RH Linux. I like using Linux better, but I have my games in Windows.

How do you install two different operating systems on ONE computer and how exactly does that work?

Do a search for "dual boot" and the operating systems you're wishing to dual boot on any search engine. There're hundreds of references for this.

What it comes down to is using a boot manager such as LILO, Boot Magic, or System Commander (my favorite). The boot manager writes itself to the Master Boot Record of your boot partition and copies and rearranges files as necessary to start up whatever OS you want (after you've installed each). In some configurations you won't even need to buy a separate boot manager. For example, I've installed Solaris and Windows and allowed Solaris to perform the boot manager function.

If you want to buy a 3rd party boot manager, this is probably the best for the PC :

Yeah, you can see the above info and links on how to dual-boot.

Personally, I actually have 2 separate drives:

One is a 15 gig ATA/66 partitioned into one ten gig for windows and one five gig for stuff that I share between the two (like documents, MP3s, etc.). It is under the Fat32 filesystem.

The second drive is an older 3 gig drive dedicated 100% to RH 6.2.

Windows98 all around (on all three of my working computers). I had an older Mac running Mac OS 8.5 or something like that, but I gave that computer to my mother.

    Windows 95
    Windows 98 SE
Windows 2000 Pro (love it on the desktop)
    Windows 2000 Advanced Server
    Windows NT 4.0 Server
Windows NT 4.0 Workstation (but I'm down to only one more box that I'm responsible for, and it's about to be changed)
Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition (with Metaframe, of course)

Haven't messed with ME...probably never will.

Keep telling myself I'm gonna get a MAC, so I'll be well versed, but so far, it hasn't happened.
