I'd pay good money to be able to see The Smothers Brothers live. I've been listening to a tape of theirs that I made from an old LP. What a hoot!

    How about you?

Do you mean see them now as they are now or go back in time and see them in their heyday?

    Led Zepplin

I used to say Pink Floyd, but then they got back together and I got to see them twice (which was freakin' fantastic!). Not going to happen with Zep.

Take it in the direction you want. I was just listening to an old Smothers Brothers "album" that I had taped. I probably first listened to it 35-40 years ago. It is still fresh and hilarious.

Wish they were back on TV... even TVLand.

Weezer, I'm with ya on seeing the Dolls...... Closest I ever came was Syl Sylvain's band (The Criminals?) soon after the Dolls broke up. Have you ever seen the Dolls Performance on the old 'Rock Concert' show? Very Cool.

Of course, my vote would be to see Mott the Hoople.

Actually reunions run rampant these days; two of which I would love to catch. The Pixies and Psychidelic Furs - Just in -Gang of Four is playing 'Chochella' (a woodstock like festival near San Diego)

I saw Led Zeppelin (minus John Bonham, of course) in the early nineties at the Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary show at the Garden. If memory serves, Jason Bonham drummed. It was awesome. And I'm not sure Zep minus Bonham is < Floyd minus Barrett and Waters.

I could write a dissertation on this topic.

Here's a few, and of course I'm referring to their respective heydays:

    Led Zeppelin
    The Who
    The Beatles
    Elvis Presley
    Janis Joplin
    John Coltrane
    Pink Floyd
    Charlie Parker
    Miles Davis
    Stevie Ray Vaughn
    Jimi Hendrix
    Van Halen (with Diamond Dave)
    Cream
    The Yardbirds

I was speaking to one of my mom's friends the other day. She's an American who grew up overseas and was a teenager living in London in the sixties and seventies. Back then, she saw Zeppelin, Floyd, the Who, the Beatles, Black Sabbath, Jimi....you name it. I damn near bowed down before her and kissed her feet.

Did you ever get to see Bill Hicks? I saw him five or six times. He was great.

If you're a Bon Scott fan you should really check out Bon's Fire, a Bon-era AC/DC cover band that plays at Rudyards every few months. They're really something.
