There won't be the same sort of opportunities that Morey had with Lin and Asik since Parsons has more years under his belt.
I'd be ok with that. Parsons isn't going to live up to a big contract and carry them to a ring. Parsons is a complimentary player. A really good one at times, but if Dallas ties up a bunch if their cap space offering him a huge deal I'd say let them.
Even disregarding the fact that Parsons is a 3-yr RFA, meaning the Rockets have full bird rights and therefore not restricted by the whole MLE thing... Do people not know that the max poison pill contract is 4yr/$40mil? Yeah, like Morey isn't going to match $10mil/yr.
You match because if the guy doesn't quite live up to expectations you can package him with the NOP pick and another 1st next year and at least get something if not another star. I like Chandler. He needs to be more of a defensive oriented player if he intends to start next to The Beard.
If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't the dollar amount that kept my and Chicago from matching, but the way it was structured. Can a team not structure his contract in that way?

@SamAmicoFSO 9:20 "Should mention several teams interested in Parsons - and told all want to act quickly since Rockets will be busy chasing Carmelo & LeBron." Cavs lakers bobcats mavs Magic Bulls Wolves
I'm at a point where I'm not sure where people are coming from. Max possible contract offer to Parsons: 4 years at ~14/15/16/17. Total: Roughly $62mil(actual number vary depending on salary cap) Max possible Poison Pill contract offer: 4 years at 5.5/5.5/~15/~15. Total: ~$41mil(actual number vary depending on salary cap) How in the world can the Rockets possibly be screwed more by a poison pill contract more than a max contract?
match any offer, Chandy has been playing for peanuts and hes a big part of this team. Plus its not my money so I dont care
