I'd say #5 but Cat already has it. So I'm going with #00!!! I think it would best represent what LITTLE or NO chance the Rockets had at landing the #1 overall pick in the lottery.....
Asian culture is very steeped in numerology so I suspect (since Cato already wears 13) that Ming will choose something which seems unusual to us. Or, since Yao Ming likes Barkley, I wonder if one of the Chucksters old numbers is a lucky one in numerology?
I brought this question up in a post ealier today.. Great thread though imo I suggested number 25....but 31 looks cool and its 13 backward.. But I suppose that the #1 would be cool, it would always speak of the postion he had in the draft!
I say he should wear 3 because that's how many years he will be with us before he bolts for a bigger market.
Mo was 24 but I don't think Yao's game even remotely resembles Mo's. Big E was 11 but like Mo Yao's game does not resemble his. Dream's number was 34 but just like Mo and Big E I don't think Yao's game really looks like Dreams. Ralph Sampsons number was 50 and maybe because of the size and passing skills that number could fit but I consider that number to be a little jinxed since Ralph wrecked his knees while wearing that number. The one hall of famer that I think Yao may come the closest to is Kareem Abdul-Jabar, especially if he developes the Sky Hook. Both were or are considered good passers, good shot blockers, great offensive weopons but not really dominating defensive players. Give Yao Ming number 33.
Damn I forgot about that! I know lets cut Glenn Ric and give Eddie number 41. Wasn't that his brothers number that he wanted to wear before Rice came on board?
i don't think he should use #75 because of his height. i do recall shawn bradly used 76 and muresean used 77 and that definitly jinxed them because we all know how they turned out. I like kareems number for him b\c he cud become a similar player.
99!!!!! That's teh best number for Chinese people. It means a lot--longitivity(as in dynesty), aboundance, the biggest but not yet full (as in 100). And it sounds good both in English and Chinese.
