What new products you can think of that saved/revolutionized their own industry?

I can still remember that the craziness in early 90's when Swatch introduce low-cost switzerland Watch to the market or the fancy IPOD that brought us to Digital Music era.

besides the computer itself, the mouse might be the most important innovation in the computer age. I can't even imagine still having to type DOS commands...

...and I don't think that VHS saved an industry, it CREATED the home movie industry

Computer animation probably saved the animated film industry. Animated films are now a lot less risky because they can be produced more inexpensively.

How about the propulsion technology that allows a rollercoaster to reach maximum speed in less than five seconds? Can you imagine not having Greezed Lightning?

I could name two inventions that should be on the top ten inventions of all time list, but I don't think you guys want to hear them. Besides, both of them are things that men don't use.

Nice try, guys, but the only one who got one of them right was RM95. :) (He's married; maybe she's taught him a few things about women's priorities.)

FattyFatBastard - ummm, no. I haven't worn it in how many years?

RocketMan Tex - you can always find some guy who doesn't need it. (well, not always, but you can always hope.) So that's more an invention for men...

    A-Train - joking as usual; I won't worry about that one :)

coma - how do I put this... it is possible to learn how to do that yourself without any assistance from any "invention". (well, you know that, but it's also possible for women :) )

My other idea was the bra. I think they didn't even have them until like 100 years ago? I can't imagine. How on earth did they manage?
