I've always heard that Yao was quite the hard worker. Just because he's not as good as Kobe doesn't mean he doesn't work as hard. That could be true of a number of other players as well.

Kobe is one damn hard worker as is Yao..
I can't hate on the guy anymore. He's great.. goes out and plays the game the right way.. He said all the right things in this interview and plays the game to win not for all the extra fluff and BS on the side. What a huge contrast to LBJ or even Tmac.

Wow, how's this possible, I think i'm starting to really like the guy

In fact I'm starting to forget just 2 years ago how much I hated his guts

and yeah, by contrast, he is making Lebron look more and more like a immature douche

how quickly you forget how kobe acted when things was tough? again, typical what have you done for me lately fan.

kobe was always a smart guy, even back in high school. so it's not surprising he knows the politically correct answers. you mean to tell me he's not motivated by MJ's 6 rings? are you serious? you mean to tell me he's not motivated by the miami heat? are you serious? c'mon now. i think only shane battier is worse.

i actually like the new wave of players who say how they actually feel. we may not like what they have to say, at least we know they're honest in what they're saying.

kobe is too calculated in interviews for my taste. he was so when he came into the NBA, and was more so after the rape trials.

    What motivates Kobe?

Staying out of prison for rape maybe?

For the Rocket fans with short memories:

I always ask myself on players I am suppose to hate.. would I like them on the Rockets? 99% of the time is YES in a heart beat. All the people on here that hate on Kobe, Lebron, Dirk, etc would take them on the Rockets in a heart beat and become their biggest supporters. Only guy I can think about that I really would never ever see in a Rockets uniform is Malone.

i take any player that would make us better. the NBA is a business, and even so for fans. if you help us win, we cheer.

if sasha vujacic takes us to another level, we would be cheering him like a rockstar.

It's time to realize Kobe is a legend in the making... I wouldn't be surprised if he wins two more rings.

The difference between Kobe and Lebron:

    Kobe trains hard.
    Lebron parties hard.

like him as a player. hate him as a person

complains too much. thinks he's on top of the world and can't handle that some players know how to guard him

I respect his game but I hate him, but then again I've always been told by family and friends that I tend to hate people that resemble me so who knows....

Shane was at fault there, getting up while Kobe was on top of him. Kobe could've been hurt.
