What makes a real Rockets fan? Is it the fact they we stand by our team through the good times and also the bad times? Is it going with the flow, happy if we win, pissed if we lose? Is a successful season to a real fan having a much better season then last season? Or, is a successful season to a real fan making the playoffs? Most of these guys on CC.net are pathetic. We are much better then we were last year, we'll be even better next year. Please shut up with all the critisism and bashing. It's not like this is an easy league to play in. We'll probably win over half of our games this season. Be proud. Trust me, we'll win the championship soon. It won't be this year (but would it be this year even if we did make the playoffs? No).

You can sure tell this isn't the city of brotherly-love. We're treating the Rockets like they are the worst thing to happen to the city of Houston.. hell, the entire state of Texas. I am proud to be a fan of an NBA team who made one of the biggest turn arounds from last season and has alot of talent and shows promise of even more successful seasons to come. Grow up guys...... as in the words of one of the best basketball analysts in the game today, Calvin Murphy: "Don't hate!!!!!".... could that possibily have been said better?

Anyways... to all the bashers and critisizers on this BBS, please don't call yourself a fan.

All this coming from a fan who hates Les Alexander?

    Give me a break.

This is like Saddam Hussein telling Gandhi how to treat humans.

dont you suffer from mad yao disease???

i remember you saying that francis and the cat had something against yao and they are conspiring against him.

critisism is one thing but straight bashing is another. i love my rockets and i trust les to do whats best for the team.

Perhaps cause people are tired of typing long answers to the same question over and over again!

10 things that make you a real Rockets fan.

#1. Win or Lose you support the team

#2. You never slander a player or demand they trade him.

#3. You wear the Logo with pride!

#4. You sleep, eat and breath Rockets.

#5. When someone slanders the team or a player you jump to their defense.

#6. You discuss the mistakes they made after the game but do not turn your back on the team.

#7. If you attend the game you call out a hoot and holler when they sing the national anthem and the person says "And the Rockets red glare"

#8. You pick up the paper each day and read about the Rockets.

#9. If attending a game you stand in long lines and wait hours just to get that rare freebie because it has something to do with the Rockets.

#10. In the words of Rudy T you are a true Rockets fan if you never under estimate the heart of a champion!

A real Rocket fan never takes out his life frustrations on the Rockets.

A real Rocket fan never sells-out just to join the masses.

A real Rocket fan never makes jokes about his team just so he can impress a bunch of dudes on a bbs.

A real Rocket fan knows a bandwagoner when he sees one.

A real Rocket fan is.. becoming extinct.

#11 . When you're called "a homer" on this board.

And NO, joining this board on whatever time doesn't make you MORE of a fan than others.

#12. When you're at the game, and you don't do like other fans, sitting behind you, who bash the ROX because something bad happens during the game, such as missing ONE shot.

The nerve of some people... just sitting at one game and hearing that BAD FAN behind you messes the whole game for you. On top of that, you take your kids because you think it will be a great game, and that BAD FAN screws your family outing . On top of it, I bet he got those tickets for free... :(

Sheck out the signature... it's been there since the time I saw HATRED on theses boards... :(

A real Rockets fans sat through and watched all but 2 of the 82 games last season, watched all but three games the year before, watched all but one game this year, and will try and watch them all next year.:)

    No matter what!

    I won't support a team that's being coached poorly.
    I won't support a team that's playing foolishly.

    I'm a fan, not a fanatic.

Players come and go (Moses, Dream, Warren Moon)
Coaches come and go (Bill Fitch, Bum Phillips)
Even teams come and go (Oilers)

But the fans (us, me) are what matter.

Loyalty is a two way street.

Pro Sports is a tough business filled with spoiled brats, ego maniacs, and drama queens, all of them over paid.

If you want to blindly support people who don't even know you in real life, np.

I'll support something (athlete, company, politician) that deserves to be supported.

    They've got to earn it.
