I like some of just about all kinds of music, but I'm very selective within all the types. For instance I like some country artists, but definitely not any of the big pop ones. I don't like Garth Brooks, Faith Hill etc. I like Robert Earl Keen, Hank Williams sr. Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash etc. I like Jazz, but I only like classical Jazz. Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and some of the others like that. I like '80's underground music mostly though. New Order, The Jam, Devo, Elvis Costello, The Clash, the Pixies, Joy Division etc. Old School rap like Run DMC, Slick Rick, Public Enemy, etc.
I like pretty much all genres of music except for bluegrass and hard-core country. There are many artists I like and I will include these: Aphex Twin Beatles Beck Bee Gees Kate Bush Chemical Brothers The Clash Cocteau Twins John Coltrane The Cult Danzig/The Misfits Miles Davis Dead Can Dance Delerium/Front Line Assembly DJ Shadow Enigma Everclear Everything but the Girl Faithless/Dido Fatboy Slim Peter Gabriel Goo Goo Dolls Jean Michel Jarre Joy Division/New Order Judas Priest Kraftwerk Less Than Jake Massive Attack Sarah McLachlan Moby Motorhead Nine Inch Nails Mike Oldfield The Orb Orbital Pantera Prodigy Radiohead Rancid Sepultura Smashing Pumpkins Soundgarden Tool Underworld Utah Saints Vangelis VNV Nation I guess that is all for now.
Most of the bands I like seem to be Pixies influenced. Nirvana, Toadies, Pavement, Weezer, and local band The Groceries. Other bands I like are STP, Soundgarden, and Smashing Pumpkins.
Radiohead first and foremost Strokes, MSPreachers, a lot of Britrock. Deftones Everything else. I do mean everything. All music is great to me.
I used to be into nothing but hard core heavy metal...but my tastes have softened somewhat with age. I still love a good thrash metal song (love early Metallica), but I also like older rock as well as a lot of the progressive rock/metal out today. Oh yeah, and I think that Tenacious D has their own category, since they have redefined music and are obviously the greatest band in all the land. Dio rocked for a long, long time. Now it's time for them to pass the torch.
Uh, the next band asked me to read this.... "Please stand away from the stage, unless you want some cream in your jeans." Ladies and gentlemen, Tenaciuos D
All kinds except for super-hard rock and ultra-smooth elevator-music style jazz. And sometimes, country can get on my nerves. I listen to 103.7, the Mountain, and Star 101.5! Oh, and 98.1 Classical King FM www.kmtt.com www.star1015.com http://www.king.org
My favorite type of music is blues. After that, I like Texas blues, Louisiana blues, and country blues. When I'm not listening to the blues, I listen to blues.
Hard Rock and power pop. Favorite new bands are: Bütch Wälker (listen to "My Way"), Marvelous 3, and LIT. Anything influenced by Cheap Trick is likely to please.
Underground Hard Rock that I'm not sure any of you guys have heard of. The reason: I can go see them for 1/3 the prie of a regualr band and usually end up meeting them. Tell me if any of you guys have heard of: The Best Friggin Band on the Planet-36 Crazyfists From Zero SimonSays P.O.D(I know you've heard of em) Boy Hits Car Tenacious D(You've heard of em) Nonpoint
