Question to those who hit the gym everyday or own weights themselves. What is your workout routine? I'm trying to figure one myself, but I'm having a tough time and I always end up changing it when I do it. I plan on playing football for my team next season and I'm trying to get as many active workouts as I can, and I workout about 3 times a week. I need to find a routine that would fit me.
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
Are you wanting to bulk up? Or become faster and more agile? Constantly changing your workouts isn't a bad thing. The more you confuse your muscles, the better. What poistion will you be playing?
See I never got that part of the movie, is that a weird routine? Cuz I do that to my wee wee every night.
My routine is taking the stairs in the garage instead of the elevator. Sometimes I go 4 whole flights of stairs!
What you must understand beyond all of this is. Spread the workout routine to every muscle. Don't just focus on upper body, biceps, etc. You don't wanna look like Ron Artest and have a large upper torso, but tiny lower body.
I like to improvise and mix it up. Diet is always the most important part, in terms of getting your protein, fatty acids, carbohydrates, etc. You have to find something that works for your body type, and I prefer having meals throughout the day to fuel my testosterone. I'm not a fan of creatine and NO explode as it's water weight but if you've hit a plateau in the gym and want to take it to the next level, it's your best bet. Real talk - supplements are overrated! Just keep feeding yourself good food. Swimming is the best form of cardio and muscle relaxation. But it's hard to get motivated for that in the winter so I up my intake of the girl I'm dating. In terms of working out, exercises that hit a wide range of muscle groups always worked the best for me. Deadlifts, incline bench, squats, cable wires, pulldowns, etc. Throw in a few isolated exercises towards the end of your workout but they should be considered a supplement to a regimen that trains your core. Don't waste time socializing or taking your girl to the gym with you because she's just going to giggle and tease you later about the funny faces you make. Unless she owns a pair of rock hard abs and biceps herself which means you should question your own sexuality. Go hard for 45-55 minutes, then rest for the day and fuel up. Muscles only grow when they have adequate rest and fuel. This is a bit controversial as athletes spend considerably more time in the gym, but a lot of it is cardio and toning which I don't include in the weight training sessions. Don't do the same exercises with the same amount of reps each time you go, find different ways to shock your muscles. I know this is more conceptual and not as definitive as you would want, but it's a sure way to get your swag on and see gains.
Get up from couch. Open fridge. Remove beer. Take bottle top off. Sit. Recline. Lift arm, curl towards mouth, swallow beer. Repeat as needed.
All of the Above and the position I will go out for is WR/DB. Specifically the Safety position. So anybody have a recommended workout for the safety position?
i'm thinking about finally maybe using the iFitness app on my iPhone to get motivated to work out and track my results. it's got several workouts for what you are wanting to achieve (weight loss, muscle gain, etc.). anyone used it? i used to track my workout results manually in an Excel spreadsheet. i need a data entry person to enter those stats into my iPhone app for the historical. lol.
I need a suggestion for sets and reps for each workout like the arms and legs. I think you could give me a good amount of them.
LOL @ all the joke replies, you guys should try lifting weight sometime instead of browsing cf.net all days. To OP, you need to make a routine base on what you want to accomplish. Do you want strength? Mass? or tone? This is my routine I do for mass that include at least 6 meals a day: Mon: Chest/Tri's- 3-4 exercises each Tues: Back/Bis- 3-4 exercises each Wed: Shoulders- 3-4 exercises Thur: Legs- 3-4 exercises Fri: Rest Sat: Fri- Full body workout, 1 exercise per muscle Sun: Rest
The hell? you wanted to know what other people's work out routine is like, i tell you what mine is like, and you complain it's too specific or not specific enough?
You need to provide more information, like your current height and body weight, if you're an ectomorph/mesomorph/endomorph, have you lifted weights before, age, etc. Don't expect people to blindly throw out random sets and reps for you if they don't know what they're working with. This is why it's best to talk to a coach (although most of them are useless) or someone who can watch over you initially instead of the internet.
