    What do you prefer:

    1) American, Japanese, or European?
    2) Car, Truck, SUV, motorcyle?
    3) Custom Rims, or Factory?
    4) Subwoofers or are they annoying?
    5) Limo, mirror, or no tint?
    6) Loud pipes or not so loud pipes (exhaust?)7) Automatic or Stick?
    8) Power & speed or reliability?

I am still paying off my "preowned" car, but I only have a few months left and I was considering buying a new car or at least a 98' or 99'.

With my current spending power, I am considering an F150 truck, maybe a Nissan Frontier, or a Toyota Celica (if I'm getting a car(. I would prefer a truck because I can actually move big things like furniture and when it is Christmas I don't have to wire the Christmas tree to the top of my car. lol. Not too big on rims, although I wouldn't mind having them. [IMG]

I love systems. I don't blast mine too loud, but if someone has an annoying system in the car next to me, I will let them have it.

    Tint is a plus.

Manual transmission is cheaper and more fun.

I'd pick reliability over power. I wouldn't take my vehicle racing because I don't want to lower my life expectancy.

Anyway, what are you guys into?

Well, I've never been a car slut, but for the past few years I've had this itch for a certain vehicle, and DAMNIT!--I'm gonna get it. I was planning to buy it in Seattle at the start of my honeymoon a few weeks ago, and then drive it up through BC and Alberta, and then down through Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Parks, but all the fires in the national parks made me change my mind (we just stayed in Canada for the honeymoon), so now I'm hunting for the right vehicle here in Houston.

I did buy the stereo for it though on my honeymoon up in Canada where we found some good deals with the exchange rate. I got an Alpine CDA-7840/B head unit, four Infinity Kappa 63.I 6.5" speakers, a 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect Sub, and that bigass Infinity amp (RMS: 50X4 & 200X1).

The vehicle it's gonna go in: A red Ford F-250, Lariat, Crewcab, shortbed, diesel, automatic. Do I need such a truck? Hell no....but I want it bad.

My first car was a "car," but then I bought a truck. I'll never go back. You'll like the F-150; you can put a rockin system in it.

I don't have any particular vehicle in mind yet. But with the rising gas prices, I have a hunch my next car will be electric or a gas/electric hybrid.

I'm a truck guy myself. All those years of hauling music equipment made me love them.

I have a 2000 Toyota PreRunner that I absolutely love. It has a V6 and a king cab and a very nice stereo (CD/Radio/Cassette).

This is it except mine is dark red:

My needs are simple. Will it run well? Will it run long? Is it big enough to haul what I need to haul?

I prefer standard, but my wife and I both drive this one for our business so I got an automatic.

I like cars. I'd buy an SUV because I like the way they look, but I really have no use for one and I haven't seen anybody that can justify the price of most of them.

I've only owned 2 cars in the past 10 years and they've been Japanese. A Toyota Camry and my current Nissan Maxima. I only like buying cars I can buy and forget for at least the next 130-200k miles. The Camry was still running strong at 130k miles before I just decided to get my Maxima for the heck of it. Reliability and durability are important to me. My current '97 Max just hit 80k and I haven't had a repair yet other than new brake pads, tires, etc.

I have an automatic because umm... well... err... I can't drive a stick shift... never learned. *ahem*

I've always wanted to put a sub in my car, but just never got around to it. I almost bought a pair of JL 10's a couple of years ago, but after my move to the DFW area, I just got too busy to bother with it. The stock Bose system in my Max is decent and has decent bass, but doesn't hit like I want it to.

I have tinting. Limo tint's illegal, isn't it?

I don't do the r****ded racing stuff that I see around all the time. It makes me laugh when somebody puts a monster Supra wing on a honda civic or something. Half the owners out there that do this seem to be saying "Look at me! See how stupid I look?!". If I'm putting performance parts on a car, it'll be for a purpose and not trying to make a not-fast car look fast. Although from what I hear, putting racing stickers on your car drops the 1/4 trap times by at least .25 seconds. [IMG]

I bought the Max because it had power, speed, and reliability. I still love my purchase.

    1) American, Japanese, or European?
American. My grandfather worked for Ford during WWII. No one in my family drives anything other than Ford. Bedides that, Ford makes my beloved '93 GT Mustang.

    2) Car, Truck, SUV, motorcyle?
Along with the Mustang I already own, someday I will own a Harley. A big-ass cruiser bike with loud-ass pipes. I like trucks as well, but I could live without one.

    3) Custom Rims, or Factory?
I've got the 5-star chromed pony rims on my 5.0. While they are stock, they certainly look custom. Either way, I love them.

    4) Subwoofers or are they annoying?
I've got a 60w x 4channel Alpine CDA-7965 head unit (love that remote control) hitting hard with two 12" JLs on a Punch 45. My stock speakers are still in place with Blaupunkt mid-highs in the dash.

    5) Limo, mirror, or no tint?
Limo. And yes, it is illegal.

    6) Loud pipes or not so loud pipes?)
LOUD!!! Mac shorty headers fed into an off-road H-pipe in to Flowmaster 2-chamber mufflers

    7) Automatic or Stick?
(Is this question necessary?) Stick, of course.

    8) Power & speed or reliability?
Okay, I obviously go for power and handling over reliability, otherwise I'd most likely drive a foreign car. Actually, Mustangs are notoriously reliable cars, and mine has been very good to me and my college-student budget. I've put 120,000 miles on her and I pasted some chump in a Bow-Tie on the way home tonight. Give her a little TLC, and she'll treat you right, but those horses are still made to run.

I have 4 favorite cars, in this particular order:

Benz S430 - A silver one of these babies, chromed out ooooooh. Of course money would have to be not an object as it can easily go up 95k
Lexus LX470 - This SUV by far beats out the Navigator and the Cadillac model in style.
Lexus GS 300 - Me and my dad got the 2000 model, and this baby is BAD ASS!
Jaguar S-Type - Front looks like a Rolce Royce and the back looks like a freakin chevy.

I dont like American cars. They are known for their performance and power, not their style. I dont give a damn about horsepower, and how fast it can go. I just want my car to look good. But a Viper and Corvettes are freakin bad ass. I also like the Lincoln ls.
European and Japanese cars are the best.

    1) Euro
    2) Car
    3) Factory
    4) Annoying
    5) I have none right now, but not b/c I'm against Limo (I should pay attention next time) or mirror(what's the difference?).

    6) Normal. Tiptronic - so both.
    7) I used to have a Subaru, which was for reliability. But if you pay enough you can get a reliable powerful car.

    My Cars of Choice:

    The Audi A series (A8, A6, A4), Porsche 911. Somehow I have an emotional block in paying $900 or > for a lease... and I don't buy cars... so it'll be a while before I buy a 911. Plus, I don't think the 911's have AWD... and I'm neither bald nor am I a girl, so I can't drive a Boxster.

I have an A4 Avant right now, but damn I wish I had paid an extra $100 or $150 a month for the A6 Avant... it is wide, and beautiful. Mmmm... rocket wagons.

I have always been a BMW freak, thats the only car I like to drive. Right now Im driving a 1996 BMW 318i. I am looking for a new car now and to tell you the truth I might go for a SUV or even a TRUCK. I most likely am going to go car shopping next week so if guys would throw some good cars at me to look at , I would appreciate it.

You know, there are certain cars that you recognize right away...The classic body design of a porche or a lamborghini...The circular tail lights of a 'Vette....Heck, even the VW Bug is legendary in it's own way...

Then, there's the Mustang...There's just something about that Pony on the grill that is so intoxicating

Anything with the new, curvy body design (I think they changed it in '94)

    black or aqua-marine

    black rag

V-6 (The GTs are a little bit expensive on the gas for my budget)

Tint is crucial in keeping the temperature
down some when the car's sitting in a parking lot

    Gotta have a system

Automatic...A stick may be nice for those 90 MPH cruises through the country, but is terribly annoying in a traffic jam or a residential neighborhood with lots of stop signs (which, suprisingly, is where 75% of most people drive their cars)

As long as it doesn't have hubcaps, I'm fine...Every single car with hubcaps always seems to have that "mystery cap" that flies off and ends up in the same place where your socks go after disappearing in the dryer...very annoying...

If I can't get a Mustang, then I might have to settle for a Mach 5...

    GO, SPEED RACER, GO!!

I tend to favor German automobiles. I have a 1998 Audi A4 right now, and I just love it. I always buy stick shift (which is actually hard to do sometimes. I'm amazed at the number of cars out there that are only available with automatic). I tend to keep the cars I buy pretty well stock. I have changed out a stereo on a few, but only because the stock stereo was complete garbage. I've not gone in for window tinting, either (I don't like the lost visbility at night).

I have had a lot of American cars since I began driving in 1986, including six Ford vehicles. All of my Fords were very reliable and very well put together. My last vehicle was actually a 1996 Ford F-150 XLT Extended Cab. I put 70,000 miles on it in just under 3 years and never had any problems with it (aside from poor gas mileage compared to a regular car). I would not shy away from purchasing another Ford in the future, but there's just something about the way a German automobile drives that makes them my first choice.

I don't lease cars, but if I did, I wouldn't mind going after an A6. VERY good performance and VERY nice to drive.

BTW, I feel the same way about Boxsters. Kinda like the way I feel about people that drove the old Mercedes 190 series and the 200 series today. If you can't get the real thing, don't prove it by buying something lesser. [IMG]

    JayZ,

That's the only non-5, non-7, non-8 series BMW I'd probably buy (ok, maybe the Z8, lol) that's within my price range. BMW's are awesome handling and performing vehicles. You're making me drool!

New cars are nice and all but they feel so sterile and seperate from the driver. It feels like you're just riding in it. Thats not driving.

For my money there is absolutely nothing like a classic 1968 Ford Mustang. I know, I drive one everyday.
