Considering he’s the most likely star the Rockets are targeting, this will be a constant subject of debate over the next year. Construct a deal that you’d both be ok doing and thing the Suns could realistically accept Devin Booker for Jalen Green Dillon Brooks Jock Landale (salary filler) 2025 PHX/HOU Swap 2027 PHX 1RP 2029 PHX 1RP 2029 best of DAL/HOU 1RP You could maybe convince to part with Cam as well, but that’s tbd. I would definitely do the above deal however
I'm not giving up all those picks ..... They can have Jalen, Brooks, Uncle Jeff 25 swap & their own 27 pick. Those 29 unprotected picks are off the table. They can have the same 2 year window that the Nets were given.
FVV Jalen Green 2027 PHX 1RP Bag of HEB Carolina Reaper Puffs That should be more than enough. Future Squad: Point Guards: Amen & Reed Shooting Guards: Devin & Reed Small Forwards:. Whitmore & Eason Power Forwards: Jabari & Eason Centers: Sengun & Landale
Why do they the Suns want Jalen or Brooks? You have to double question why Phoenix wants an aging Dillon too and an inconsistent Green... Dillon Brooks will never see 26m again unless someone is desperate for technicals and tenacity. They could target the next 2 drafts and emerge with better talents easily that can defend and score. Easily go after higher picks if I were them. They are not dumb. They are never winning a chip with Jalen and might just deal with Utah for Cody Will and massive picks. Or Spurs with their picks.
I'd imagine the price would be something like, Jalen Green, plus one member of the young core, plus 3-4 FRPs (depending on the protections & which ones). Whether I'd pay that would probably depend on which member of the core we have to give up
No way PHX parts with Booker without Reed coming back. A package with Jalen, Reed, and Dillon would be the starting point here... Salaries match.
Jalen (because having Booker would make him redundant) Brooks (to clear space for our logjam at the 3 spot) Reed/Sengun/Amen - you have to include one of these I think for them to even consider it - Cam's not shown the potential, Reed's brand new and shiny or Sengun's proven himself. Otherwise why the **** else would they trade us their best player and star? If Jalen's a "bust" then he's not going to get it done with just him, Brooks and picks. Jabari isn't a star projection so nope, Tari's a 6th man chaos engine off the bench so nope. If you want Booker you're going to have to give them something they actually want to trade for...
Other teams will offer three 1st rd picks and 2 pick swaps and valuable players. That's the floor. So, to have the winning bid the Rockets will need to offer the equivalent of that with giving them their picks back as the sweetener. I think the offer in the OP is close but I think it will take 2 of the young players. I think the only way they take one young player back is if they can squeeze Sengun from us.
I'd agree with this too. The only way they only take 1 of our youngsters is if it's Sengun, and even then I think they'd likely want him plus at least one of the others. It's insane how people think that Jalen's a bust and also valuable enough to be the main piece in a Booker trade, it's not possible to be both.
The Suns can keep him then and when they trade him somewhere else and become terrible, we will have their picks.
Kinda a hot take but I definitely can understand it. I think Mitchell is more naturally gifted. More creative handles, more explosive, more creative finisher at the rim nearly as good of a shooter. Booker is bigger. Honestly if they swapped teams, not much would change for those teams. Probably similar level of impact.
It would take Jalen, Jabrari, Eason, Cam, Landale and three firsts to get Booker and some trash. Love Booker, but is he worth it?
Well if it takes that lol no. Why would the Rockets do the trade if that is the required haul lol. That would be unhinged. That's like a disgruntled Luka haul. But a Booker level player? Damn that would be cookoo to say yes to that.
Booker is soft for his size. He has no dog in him. You can rattle him like Luka did. He requires more connectivity around him than Mitchell. You can give the ball to Mitchell and he can go set the table better than Booker can plus get his shot outside of structure better. Booker is a glorified spot up/one dribble type guy. He isnt breaking a defense from the perimeter the same way Mitchell is. Spyda collapses defensive sets on his own and is harder to gameplan for. EVERYONE knows what Booker wants to do. Catch inside the arc, one/two dribbles to the elbow and shoot. Its "efficient" dont get me wrong, but just not dynamic enough to be a main hub. High level second fiddle is what Booker is. If Spyda was playing with Durant and Beal I think they would be more capable because his talent does not overlap with theirs in the way Booker does -- several midrange savants vying for space.
