http://www.bodybuilding-supplement-guide.com/1-rep-max-bench-press-calculator.html that is a pretty cool calculator..just wanted to share with yall. for me i am 5'7" around 165 and according to this calc i should be maxing out around 225. what about yall?
Most I have ever done once was 260. I have done 9 reps of 205 and using this calculator, it came out to be 264. I thought that you could enter your weight and it would calculate your max bench from that?
I usually incorporate 10 reps of 255 into my chest routine and the calculator has me at 340. Last time I maxed several months ago (when I could get a spotter at the 'Y') I was at 330. I'm 6'0" and 200lbs right now, although I'm considering bulking to around 215lbs just for the heck of it.
We're pretty much the exact same size and capabilities. I don't like to get bigger than around 200 because it makes my dress shirts and slacks fit poorly.
My max bench was 205. After I hit 205, I started popping tendon sheaths in my wrists. I've done that twice, and each time I had wrist pain for 2-3 months. I stopped doing one-rep maxes after that.
Currently, I can do 250 3-5 times. A few years ago, I could bench 300 a few times. Not sure if I can get back up there. I was pretty committed. I'm 6'1" at 218 lbs.
The most I've lifted is around 285 a couple of times. I did this when I only weighed 165-170. The only thing I lift these days is my 20 pound baby.
Yeah, that's the thing. I have to wear suits at work alot, and the damn jackets don't fit properly in the shoulders and across the back when I start to add a little weight.
190 5'10". so far, i do 2 sets of 180 (8-10 reps) everyday i work out. I hope that should equate that i can do at least 200. As long as I can bench my own weight, I'm good.
I love how any bench press discussion automatically becomes a discussion about the most anybody has ever lifted in their life, no matter how long ago that might have been.
I actually need to max out as it has been like 3 months; I'll max out tomorrow, just for you, to see if I can get 265 or if I am still stuck at 260 and let you know. Oh and because everyone else (or it seems like it) has done it - I am 6'2" and 195 pounds. Having long arms is a distinct disadvantage when it comes to benching.
O.k...I am the first to admit i am a puss...I weigh almost 290...and can only bench a little more than half that.
There's something wrong with that calculator. Sione Pouha (DT for the NY Jets) benched 225lbs 32 times at the NFL combine. That calculates to a 1 rep max of 1,628lbs. Don't you think we would've heard something about that, if he truely could do that? By the way, if he could've done just 4 more reps, his 1 rep max would've been 8,333lbs. If there's still a warranty on that calculator, they might want to send it back.
Well I did max out today and I got my all-time best in 265. I should have gotten 270 (had it about 75% of the way) but I never could get my right arm to lock out. The weird thing is I am right-handed but it is always the right side that drags. The bad news is that I now weigh 200 where 195 is where I want to be. I guess I am going to have to start watching what I eat as before I was eating whatever I wanted. This is going to suck big-time.
