HBO has been showing all 6 movies like crazy the last month or so. And of course, being the Star Wars geek that I am, I've been watching them all. I must say, after seeing the prequels again, I like them better and better each time. I didn't like them (besides ROTS) when I saw them in the theatre, but they are really growing on me. To me, watching how Palpatine turns to The Emperor is actually more interesting that watching how Anakin turns to Vader. And watching how he turns the Republic into the Empire makes all the prequels worthwhile, despite the cheesy dialog and wooden acting. Here's how I rank them: 1. Revenge of the Sith 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. A New Hope 4. Return of the Jedi 5. The Phantom Menace 6. Attack of the Clones
Empire, definitely. Return of the Jedi is close if only to see Carrie Fisher in that slave girl costume. Ironically, George Lucas recently said that Empire was the worst of all the films in his mind.
Hm.. Not really a favorite "episode" for me more than favorite scenes, which would be: Both Luke and Vader face-offs in Empire strikes back and Return of the Jedi. Star Wars : Knights of the Old Republic game storylines > The movies'
That's because Georgie is an idiot. Only he could make horrible actors out of the likes of Sam Jackson, Liam Neeson, and Ewan MacGregor, and only he would think of casting Hayden Christenson in a major role for anything. The prequels were flat-out horrible, in my opinion. For what its worth, and assuming that I'm forced to acknowledge that the prequels even exist, here's my order: Empire A New Hope Jedi Sith Clones Menace
I agree with what you order, and what you said, for the most part. I wish someone else (not George Lucas...he can "produce") would do sequels (7-9), which would actually work now that all the original main characters are older, without worrying about ratings and all that crap.
Sometimes you wonder how this guy was successful at the movie business at all - he seems to have no cinematic taste whatsoever. I'd rank as follows: Empire New Hope Return of the Jedi Revenge of the Sith and tied for last.... The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones
1. Empire (I think it is the greatest movie ever made, it is Shakespeare to me) 2. Star Wars (It was revolutionary and it changed the world. It is a big part of my life since age 7 when I saw it in the theater in '77, seen it over 1000 times since then) 3. Revenge of Sith 4. Jedi 5. Phantom Menace 6. Clones 5 & 6 are almost tied. I just like the story of finding Anakin.
BTW, the Empire were idiots, after having their 1st Death Star blown up pretty easily, some one should have taken the time to make sure no one could get to the main power source.
