That's right old-school. None of this crap like Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, or Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

I'm talking about stuff that usually came on Saturday mornings or you saw it on TV when you got home from school.

I have several favorites including The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, and all of the old Bugs Bunny cartoons. I also, for some reason, loved The Smurfs.

But my all-time favorite is without a doubt, The Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids show. Man, I loved that show and I wish it would come on either the Cartoon Network or Boomerang.

All of the characters were great like Dumb Donald with the toboggan completely over his head except for some eyeholes, Mushmouth (great comical character), Weird Harold, Rudy with his orange cap, and of course, Fat Albert.

I loved how all the characters had a distinct walk, and I loved the music that they would use on the show. And they were always classic lines like Russell saying this to Rudy, "Rudy, you're like school on Saturdays....NO CLASS!" And of course they would all laugh at poor Rudy with these crazy laughs!

But while the show had some crazy and goofy moments, there was always a lesson to be learned for every show and that made it even better and IMO, an educational show. They just don't make them like Fat Albert anymore....*sigh*

What is your favorite "old-school" cartoon show?

It's probably on the boarder of being an "old school" cartoon, but I love Johnny Quest!

    others...

Josey and the Pussycats! (I hang my head in shame!)

    Land of the Lost
(what was the one with everyone racing and they had that dog "Smedley" that weezed when he laughed? Well, that one was also one of my favs)

NOT a cartoon, but does anybody remember Rat Patrol?
That desert comando type of show? I remember it in the 70's although most episodes were in B&W, so they musta been alot older.
    Anyone?

    Jetsons
    Flintstones
    Aquaman
    He-Man
    Thundercats
    GI Joe

I remember Rat Patrol!! They had those cool jeeps with the machine gun on top. When I was a kid it used to come on really late at night and we used to always try to stay up and watch it.

I'm trying to think of the name, but they had Penelope Pitstop, the Caveman, et al. racing all the time. Give me time, it'll come to me.

My favorite was the Bugs Bunny-Roadrunner show, with honorable mention to Scooby Doo, The Jetsons, and Josie and the Pussycats.

Also, I never missed an episode of The Muppets. I love that show! :)

I think you are talking about the Laff-a-Lympics that was hosted by Snagglepuss and some wolf creature (can't remember his name). That dog that weezed when he laughed was "Muttley" and he was always on the Really Rottens.

    That was a great show.

    TRANSFORMERS...well, the first run anyway.

Speaking of which, you guys won't believe what happened to me last night. I laywayed a ton of Transformers stuff (Optimus, Ultra Magnus, Galvatron, etc. etc.) for my kids for this Christmas about a month ago. Went in last night to pick the stuff up and THEY LOST THE ITEMS!!!! I couldn't believe it! Ended up going to ToysRUs to recoup most of what Wal-Mart lost, but I'm finding Optimus Prime the hardest to find. ARGH!!!!

I liked Transfomers best. And before that, one Called Dungeons & Dragons, I think. Vultron was cool, also. And I believe one called Thunder Cats? Oh! And Dino Riders. Dinosaurs and lasers in the same show... every little boys dreams :D.

with the exception of transformers, looney tunes, and some of the Thundercats, new school rocks the hell out of old school.

Most of the rest just plain bites.

btw Manny for some reason I believe they show the Smurfs on Nickelodeon now. Something about that show ... can't put my finger on it, but it's just wrong. :)

    Smurffy this biatch!

If you're talking old school, you have to go with inhumanoids.

Inhumanoids ruled all. I believe it was part of a variety pack with Bigfoot.

Transor Z or something like that.
    Transformers
    GI Joe
    TMNT
    Voltron, lions only.
    Dinoriders
    Spiderman and his amazing friends
    Robotech
    Robotica??
The one where people were riding big insects
    Justice League
