With the growing number of events, from the Rookie games, to the various contests, what is your favorite event staged dring the weekend? Were Carter, Bryant etc. to be involved in the Slam Dunk contest, I would go with that, but now I'm just going to watch it for Stevie, not the overall thing. I most want to see Steve start in the game, but the game itself usually dissapoints me, with the exception of last year, because after a while all the individual plays get to be a bit of a sensory overload, and don't seem like the real game...While the smae could be said for the rookie game, I usually end up enjoying it more because it's often the most I've gotten to see a lot of these guys, and how the new talents blend with each other excites me...One more reason Griff not making it has me p-d off, and add to that Carter not dunking...the only thing I'm going to watch for is Steve. The 3-point competition is great when the legit great shooters are there, but nowadays it seems that you get more guys trying to show they are ALSO great shooters, and most of the pure ones have either retired or stay away... So, what are/is your favorite event, irrespective of Steve's involvement?
By far the dunk contest is my favorite. I don't get why people arel osing interest in it. I love the dunk contest and I'd love to see Wink win it.
The 3 v 3 game. That was fantastic, watching Moses Malone throwing elbows at anything that moved, and Ed and Justin Timberlake about to fight.
The hoop it up was awesome. Mo Malone was sweating before they even introduced him! Why did they keep putting the camera on that Timberlake fool? Geez... can't we have an event on television without some boy band being involved? Tina Thompson was funny with her line about Moses but what the heck happened to Cat and Kenny? They were horrible!!!!
Moses Malone looked like he just finished taking a bath, all that water dripping off his head was great. I found that more intresting than the dunk contest...
I liked the 3 on 3 event the best...i wouldn't mind them having some type of small 1 on 1 tourney. But like Dave Stern said about the dunk contest the older guys probably wouldn't participate cause they don't want to lose in that type of event
