    the Dead Zone

I REALLY like the many skits he did on SNL of "The Continental"

And I also liked his work in the "Weapon of choice" video by Fatboy Slim

Christopher Walken is an incredibly talented actor, but like most I like the movies where he's not the lead character. The movies that make you think, "This is quintessential Walken"

Some that come to mind are:
    • The Rundown (2003)
    • Catch Me If You Can (2002)
    • Joe Dirt (2001)
    • The Prophecy 3: The Ascent (2000)
    • Blast From the Past (1999)
    • The Prophecy 2: Ashtown (1997)
    • Nick of Time (1995)
    • The Prophecy (1995)
    • Pulp Fiction (1994)
    • Wayne's World 2 (1993)
    • True Romance (1993)
    • Batman Returns (1992)
    • A View to a Kill (1985)
    • Brainstorm (1983)
    • The Dead Zone (1983)

There are other's that I may not have seen. I also didn't include some where he acted well in a lead role.

I looked at the list of movies and would now like to go back and see the ones that I have missed.

The cowbell thing is too funny.

I agree, RR, Brainstorm was great. Ahead of it's time, sort of got lost in all the Natalie Wood stuff.

There is a great "Fresh Air with Terry Gross" interview with him archived on the NPR site.

Also - he was hilarious in "View To A Kill," which was done with more camp than Bruce Dickenson.

My favorite Christopher Walken SNL sketch is the one where he was with the "Luvahs," and Ana Gasteyer was his girlfriend.

CW: "And I was there... too."

    Ana Gasteyer: "You mean....."

CW: "BINGO! We did ... a three way."

And his whole "repunctuate a regular sentence to make it sound hilarious coming out of my mouth" thing was at its best in this random sketch where Will Ferrell had a badger stuck in his butt from a camping trip. Christopher Walken in the doctor, and invites his friends and family over for pot roast to lure out the badger. Preposterous sketch, but he is hilarious.
