I heard this morning that only 3 out of the 24 emergency rooms in Houston are taking people because of some type of Flu? And apparently the Flu vaccine is unable to stop this strain????? :confused
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5497191.html I don't understand it myself. Unless you are really sick, why would you go to the ER with the flu? No insurance and you want some useless antibiotics or something?
Bingo. I'm guessing a lot of this is parents without insurance taking their children in with super-high fever.
Think about it. You're sick, poor and don't work, so you don't have insurance. What else are you going to do with your time? Might as well go chill at the ER. At least they have cable there.
there's been a lot of fake vaccine cases lately. so if you got a vaccine this year and still get the flu? S-U-E.
That's because the way the flu vaccines are developed each year is by statistical analysis. They do research and develop a vaccine against the strain the health officials THINK is going to be prevalent in the coming flu season. It's a hit-or-miss thing. This year they were wrong and it's not helping very many people. And even if you get the flu vaccine, there's no guaranteeing you're going to contract the specific strain it protects against. What a crap shoot.
I was sick last week with severe sinus problems and was given anitbiotics and a flu shot. I was getting better over the weekend and now feel like I'm on the verge of the flu. WTF? I know my boss thinks I'm bull****ting but it's the truth. I'm going to get a doc note today saying that last week and today are legit.
Uh...no. my 2 yr old just got over it. He got the shot back in Oct. What the doctor told us is that they can only predict what strain is going to hit in a given year. Sometimes they get it right. Sometimes they don't. Not exactly a reason to sue.
eh...it costs $20. if it were a $100 shot, then i'd do it more sparingly. but if i can downgrade the chance my family will get the flu for a grand total of $80 (4 of us) i'm gonna do it every year.
A friend of mine in California caught a strain that was unexpected by doctors. Looks like the predictions on which strain would hit were wrong this year.
the flu is serious business after 3 days of diarrhea, body aches, and headaches, you'll feel better no need for the hospital
I didn't get a flu shot this year. I hear that even though people who got vaccines still get sick. I hope I won't get sick. Wash your hands 1000000 times.
Dwayne Wade is out with the flu too. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y....8vLYF?slug=ap-heat-wadeout&prov=ap&type=lgns
I don't know but I had something that knocked me on my ass for almost two weeks. I'm just now getting back to normal. Worse part about it was that it sorta seemed like it was going away and then came back. Sucked.
It is truly serious business My Mom got it [my neice and nephew too] The kids bounced back she did not We ended up taking her to the ER via Ambulance Good thing we did . . . it seemed to be Pneumonia Since Saturday She has been on a ventelator She is getting better everyday . .
