One great game would probably do it.

The Rockets need to play a game where they just click. They need a night where they go ahead early, get favorable calls, make their free throws, stop the other team, and knock down 8-10 three-pointers.

The Rockets just need to remember how to win again.

It would also help if Steve's back would heal a bit, at least to the point where he can have monster, high scoring game.

Our solution is to move to the Eastern Conference. :D

Nancy (Houston): Hi Marc, What is the biggest problem for Houston? Can they make the playoffs?

Marc Stein: Same problem as the Pistons. Detroit was out West and the Rockets are there permanently. Not the place to be without a consistent power forward or a lack of depth or the absence of veteran leadership to teach them how to win.

Too bad we already had that one great game (Yao v. Shaq episode I). Look where that got us. :(

I think one great game against a great team goes into our heads. So we expect to whoop the next mediocre team without giving 100%.

How could you not include DEFENSE in your poll?
