i would really like to see nachbar start games and see how well the rockets play with nachbar. they haven't given the rookie any playing time and rice just isn't shooting well. If they start posey, i think defense would improve on the perimeter. Mobley's shooting is just too inconsistent to be in the starting lineup. his 4 of 14 performance reminds me of john starks. SF Nachbar PF Griffin SG Posey PG Francis C Yao and i definitely think maurice taylor is insufficient at power forward. the guy doesn't rebound and never has produced good rebounding numbers in his career. they need to find a taker for him and get a real power forward. one that just grabs rebounds.
Timing, That is a joke right? I mean, is it too much to expect the Rockets to beat the Knicks at home? What about the Clipps, or the Grizz? I mean, at least beat the crappy teams right? Nope, not this team, they play down to their level of competition. Just once I would like to see this team come out and take a game by the jugular, and ram their will down the other teams throat. Shooting, and doing much better against average-to-below average teams. Bring in BOKI. Sure he probably won't go for 30, but give the guy a shot.
There are two ways to express what sticks out like a sore thumb... Can't put the ball in the basket / can't shoot It's not just 3-pointers they jack up and miss -- they miss mid-range jumpers and a lot of attempted put-backs... not to mention blown layups. When the other team doesn't have to put as much energy into defense their offense will look better than it normally would.
This is the second youngest team in the NBA and is trying to work yet another player into the rotation. They're inconsistent because of their youth/inexperience, not because of the coaching, not because they have no heart, and not because of their talent. Just the other day the Rocks obliterated the Hawks but it's becoming a common thing to judge an entire season by the last game. If we win then we're headed for a top 4 seed and if we lose then RudyT must be fired and we've gotta trade Mobley or whoever.
Timing, We are young, yes. However, Rudy can still try other players if the ones playing are not getting it done. This team NEVER, and I mean NEVER comes out playing with passion, they always coast along and try to turn it on late. And, they have been losing a ton of games because of this. Hell, at least play Defense as hard as the Knicks do....the effort from the Rockets is just not there. They seem to be rudderless. DaDakota
The Rockets:- Rudy couldn't do this much damage by himself. There has to be a fundamental problem and that problem is the 'Steve Francis and Cutino Mobley Show'. They want to be dominent highlight players on the Rox. They set the standards, because they are the leaders, such individual goals will never produce Team Basketball. Without Team Basketball the Rox will be an also ran team having one or two players with decent stats. A new attitude is needed,new spacing is needed,a new game plan is needed(see1995). Rudy must be strong and take control, he must remove players when they play poorly and it shouldnt matter who they are!! He should give his future players experience over Rice. Mobley isnt playing very well at the moment,he should come off the bench, As should Yao Ming,he's not ready for the NBA yet(he's too nice). By next season he should be seasoned enough player to know what is required of him.Cato has talent and should be used starting with........ Cato,Francis,Posey,MoTaylor and Nachbar. Second team:- Yao Ming, Moochie,Mobley,Griffin and Morris.Rice would play about 10 mins as a spot up shooter. If Moochie dosen't make the grade,then bench him and give Maddox a shot at back up. You might think this plan is crazy, its not its just a better way than what we have now! Both first five and second five have strength in offensive and defensive players and can keep the pace from falling away as it does now.
Coaching Rudy is trying to win with the back to back strategy. I think Kermit has smacked him in the head again. Passing the rock Our point guard has 3 assit in 40 plus minutes. Give me a break.
The Grizzlies are a better team than the Bockers. Hubie is doing his job and the team is proliferating now. They kicked the Magic butt tonight. The Clipps are as young team as the Rockets but they have good point guard like Andre Miller and unstoppable Elton Brand. But this loss is totally disastrous. Whatever way y'all want to analyze the game tonight, Rudy is the ONE to blame.
Great idea, Yetti. Since we are playing 9-10 man rotation anyway, why not play two teams. One is with the up-tempo fast pace, and the other plays more of a half-court game. That way no one will be b****ing about playing time anymore........ This is the simplest, yet most needed change we should immediately make...
I agree with Timing. This team is very young, and I will be happy with a 8th playoff seed this year. Next year, I will expect much more.
Agreed. Our expectation this season should be just to make the playoffs and our record so far just proved it. Cheer up. Keep the faith. We will make the playoffs. At least We are not the Lakers!!!
