For the website gurus, aside from Frontpage, what is the best software for creating a website, particularly business websites? The one thing I like about Frontpage is that once I create a page it's possible to put it right up on the internet without having to upload individual or group files. Just weighing out the options of the different softwares.
I like dreamweaver from macromedia, but I wouldn't consider my self a web-site guru. The software was pretty easy to use and you can download some trial software to test it out if you like. www.macromedia.com
I'm not a website guru either Shady, any help, even from people who aren't as experienced, would be great to!
Is there something that you would like to do that <i>Frontpage</i> is unable to do and/or limited in doing?
Nah Mango, I'm about to get an upgraded Frontpage (Frontpage 2002), and I just want to make sure I'm not passing up on something that might be better or anything. Frontpage is great, and I will probably use it anyway, but just scanning the market!
I've used www.siteskins.net... templated sites, lots of choice, lots of colors, easy to edit and publish
For people who know nothing - Microsoft Frontpage For people who know something but need help - Adobe GoLive For intermediate to pro developers - Macromedia Dreamweaver
Not true! I'm a webmaster, but I prefer Frontpage because it's website management feature, when it come to large corporation website, Frontpage always been the first option, and it's easier to use Frontpage develop asp scripts as well.
Actually, Macromedia makes a MUCH better site manager called Contribute. Frontpage loads too much crap into the code and adds all sorts of server scripts that decrease performance. I know that a lot of people like to use it, but it is still a very un-precise tool for building and maintaining sites.
I like Dreamweaver, plus, it's a cool song. (I'm approaching intremediate status on the web creation front.)
Front page is garbage. The codes that Dreamweaver generates is very clean compared to FP. If you want to do asp, then MS Visual Interdev is the way to go. But if you just want to edit static html pages, then you must get Dreamweaver...trust me!
Dreamweaver is definately much much more better than Frontpage... Ive used both and hands down MY vote goes to Dreamweaver
