I'm talking like soda top type games; McDonald's Monopoly, drawings/raffles, Texas lotto, etc. Random chance type of winnings. Gambling and sports don't count here. The only thing I can recall ever winning is some BMX hand grips from a raffle back in the 80s and about won several free Big Macs in the 90s during Monopoly season. I recall winning $50 on a scratch off.
I won a Blackberry PDA in a career day raffle. That's pretty much it. I usually avoid stupid raffles and lotteries.
I matched 4 numbers ($51, I think) at Texas Lotto 3 different times within a few months, right after I started playing. I don't think I've won anything at it since.
A trip from Germany to Teneriffa with a scratch ticket, worth about $ 2,000. Unfortunately, I was only 11 years old and the trip included visits to a casino, etc., so my dad went instead .
Won a Nokia nGage from the Nokia booth at the UT Engineering Career Expo a few years back... dud.... Also won ACL 3-day passes from my work back in 2008 right after I procrastinated too long and let them sell out before I got mine... that's probably the best/most fortunate thing I've won...
$100 scratch off 28-gauge Beretta Silver Pigeon V shotgun at a charity raffle When I was 14, my folks were at the annual Ducks Unlimited gala/fundraiser, which featured a raffle. After dinner & drinks & socializing & sitting through some of the raffle, the couple they had driven with decided it was time to call it a night, so they left. Grand Prize: fully decked-out 1990 Jeep Wrangler Safari My dad's name was drawn. You had to be present to win. This would have been my jeep. Still kinda makes me want to cry.
A copy of the remastered "Misplaced Childhood" CD by Marillion, autographed by the lead singer, Fish.
My girlfriend and I won an Amazon Kindle last week at UH. I've also won $30 on a scratch off. That's all I can think of at the top of my head.
Wow, I've always wondered what it's like to be on a game show. I'm betting the butterflies were going crazy. Clip?
I won a 19" LCD tv, DVD player, the movie "Hitch", 6 Freebird's gift certificates for a free burrito, and $150 cash at some cheesy game at UH a couple years ago.
