What you are most likely having trouble with is not html editing, but using the CSS properly in the templates. It's the CSS and javascript that manages the look n feel, mostly, nowadays. What's your target server platform? Wordpress?
Hmm, ok. Yeah it's Wordpress. I've just been having issues with the HTML editor I'm using- Coffeecup. Made me want to break something lol. I figure it shouldn't be this difficult to use and make the changes and additions I want to make to my webpage.
I have a question in the same area. I have to convert coldfusion app to either PHP or ASP.net. Which one is easier to write and maintain? I am pretty familiar with coldfusion but have not really worked with either PHP or ASP. It is a pretty large web app that uses back end SQL server and potentially could have hundreds of users on at the same time for some functions.
well, the first question is: Do you own Microsoft Visual Studio. If you don't, then go with PHP; it's free. If you do, then still go with PHP, but potentially consider ASP.NET, if your code leverages more jobs.
We have visual studio, that's why i am asking, does PHP have a good code development environment like dream weaver or visual studio? I like the little conveniences of these environments.
Dreamweaver should work fine with PHP. If that's what you're using for your CF development sticking with that may make it easier since you're already familiar with the IDE.
Despite it's popularity, Wordpress isn't the easiest to work with for complete newbies. However, premium WP themes that you pay for (around $50) will have very nice customization interfaces AND support. Check out themeforest and look at the screenshots for each theme.
This process is way more complicated than it should be in 2014. Can someone tell me what I need to know so that I can start reading tutorials without looking up every other word? I feel like I need to start learning at a more basic level than things like themeforest. Why do I have to download Klasik framework? What is Klasik framework? What do I have to do to get to the point where I'm just picking colors and replacing words in the template and stuff?
