If we were to rebuild, evendoe i think Scola is a mature and very good mentor for the youngsters i doubt he is willing to fullfill that role whithout having at least one shot at the championship. That said. What do you think Scola can be traded for, realistically. By realistically i mean that both teams would do it for good reasons, NONE being "financial move". For example, i think PHX might do a Scola for Lopez/H Warick. The trade is doable using the Ariza TE, that will balance out Scola's BYC. PHX will have one of the best PnR players you can get to play alongside Nash during the twilight of his career. Hou gets a young C with upside and a (for now) overpaid but usefull PF.
Robin Lopez is no where near as good as Scola and we would be ridiculous to even consider that. Scola is way too valuable for what we would get for him.
Scola for Jeff Green OKC need a low post player; Green is a SF and they won't pay him big money since they are already paying Durant at that position. With Scola they can push deep in the playoff this year. We play Green at SF, with Hayes and PPat share the PF spot.
Let's do it, this could be battiers replacement for the next 10 years, now let's give Patterson and Hill the minutes they desrve and build there values up for next years trade deadline.
Scola should not be traded. The team should build around Scola. Scola has been the work horse for the team and a player like that will be hard to replaced if traded.
I was thinking scola for Bynum, high risk reward for rockets and lakers get a proven low post scorer to push them over the top. But yeah, scola probally wont be traded for a long time, and especially not this year.
Yes, a restricted free agent, so we'd probably be matched by OKC, but with that said, Jeff Green could be a superstar if he wasn't behind Durantula.
