Even if moochie is going to stay , in the post we still suck , and all that J.White trades are not gonna happen . We dont have a key defensive player in the post (Griffin is too young and slim ) and our cap situtation is bad . Is there anything we can actually do to get better ? .You know it's not the offseason i dreamed about, rice is a nice addition but we never had problem with our offense , our defence was bad (and now its even worse we lost dream and shandon ) even though we got griffin he is too weak , strong nba player will abuse him , and it will take him at least 2 years to become a dominant defensive forward in the nba .Same thing with the rebounds we didnt bring any rebounder specialist either and if mo aint changed this summer we are in deep **** . Maybe Griffin is our answer but he is too young and weak to help us now . We have to resign moochie no matter what and somehow i dont know how bring quailty center . By the way The bright sight is that we have the best pg in the nba steve francis he will be M.V.P for sure next year . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steve Francis - M.V.P
and all that J.White trades are not gonna happen Your source is? If you don't have a link from a source, please don't post statements such as the one above. Just say you don't think we're trading for Jahidi White. Maybe Griffin is our answer but he is too young and weak to help us now Shareef Abdur-Rahim had much the same body structure and the same age as Griffin when he came into the league. He did pretty damn nice his rookie year.
Often on the BBS someone posts thier opinion by doing so in a fatual manner. Nonetheless, it was plainly obvious to me that he was just trying to emphasize his belief that the ROckets won't be getting Jahidi White. I happen to agree with also

Good grief... To begin with your grammar is as atrocious as a Chris Dudley FT... Anyway, you obviously have no clue about the new rules, and how the new players we have will help us... Yes, last year we were a poor defensive team, by all accounts... Anderson's defense was VASTLY overrated... Yes, he CONTAINED his guy, but he never was the "stopper" everyone claimed he was... I don't think I have to mention his offense, or the lackthereof... Olajuwon was NOT a good man-to-man defender last year... He lacked strength (got posted up near the goal too often), and agility to guard his man... However, his contribution was defending the rim when guards and forwards drove the goal... I think this is the one thing that Cato can contribute... As bad as he sucks, he is still a pretty good shot blocker... Also, keep in mind that Olajuwon missed like 25 games last year, and when he did play, he only played like 25 mins a game... People are VASTLY overrating Olajuwon's presence, because frankly, he was not present all those times he was on the IL... As for Rice, he makes the Rockets offense much better... Much better in the sense of versatility... The Rockets offense had no versatility whatsoever, as it relied 90% on Francis and Mobley on ISOs... What this does now is give the Rockets a player who can score off the dribble, from the post-up position, and on open jumpers... Name me a Rocket who did all of this last year... Back to defense, the new rules will definitely help a team like the Rockets who don't have great man-to-man defenders... Man-to-man defense is too overrated... I'd rather have 5 guys on the court who can double team the ball and rotate quickly, than having so-called man-to-man stoppers, because in the NBA, no matter how good of a man-to-man D you play, players like Kobe will still be on fire... Whereas, if you can play good team defense, that means you can deny the other team's scorer from getting the ball, or forcing him to pass to the open man... This is much more effective than praying that a Kobe Bryant is having a bad shooting night... I'm tired of all these posters here who cry about the Rockets' shortcomings, when they don't bother to analyze how the Rockets can overcome their shortcomings...
I remember hearing that they will try the new d rules in the pre season. Then if it really sux ,not use them in the reg. season. Any truth to that?
I think the overall effect of allowing a modified zone defense is being way overplayed by most of the media and in turn by the fans. Sure it might be used on certain occasions, but w/ the no 3 second defense rule, and the overall skill level of the NBA players, a zone defense just isn't going to be all that effective. I stand corrected if turn out to be wrong on this, but I just don't think it's going to limit the importance of defense....
A period is a punctuation mark used to indicate a full stop at the end of declarative sentences and other statements thought to be complete. Grammar attacks on internet BBS postings are lame, but if you must attack someone's lack of grammar skills, please try to use correct grammar yourself! KBM
KBM-I make sense whether or not I use a period, or and ellipses... I don't use ebonics or slang to try to get my point across... High Plains Drifter-I never said that teams would use a strict zone... In fact, I don't think many teams will even bother to use a strict 2-3 zone... The reason for this is because it would take too long for the players to learn... However, I think the new rules will allow the teams to play the D that the Sonics played in the mid-90's... The one that everyone claimed was "illegal" D... Their D was mainly double teaming anyone who had the ball... What made them tough was their rotation... And they always had guys in the passing lanes... The point is, that with the new rules, man-to-man defenders will be as useful as 8-tracks in this world of CD's...
...........THIS IS THE OPINION OF THE YAKEEMA SUNKING................... to answer the question of what our next move should be, it should be to &%$^%in' sign Jackson out of golden state. He seems to be getting cheaper everyday someone else doesn't sign him. Make that happen and I don't give a flying do-nut about Moochie. Put a developmental league guy on the bench backing up the one. Solidify the five, that is what we should do. 5. Jackson/Cato/Collier 4. Taylor/Griffin/Thomas 3. Rice/Griffin/Wizard/Langhi 2. Cuttino/Rice/Wizard/Langhi 1. Francis/Cuttino/Abdul- Rauf, Maloney, Zan Tabak, or who cares This is a team that can compete. This si a team that go to the western conference finals. I'd post a link confirming this, but I don't know how to cut and paste or any of that. So THIS IS ONLY AN OPINION OF THE YAKEEMA SUNKING
exactly kbm. i'm glad someone said it first. i only want another cheap center to back up cato and collier, incase one of them gets injured. a pig miller type. i want the coaching staff to play those 2, let them be a part of the rocks future, not wait for another center via trade or signings.
IT'S MY OPION That Cat is a woman and she is on the rag. No wonder his post counts are so high. It's from all the b!tch!ng about people's posts.
Damn, I guess you can't give constructive criticism around here at all. I will edit my original post. Happy?
When is Griffin going to sign a contract? Will M. Norris sign with Houston? Is Houston still interested with Marc Jackson? Up to how much can the Rockets offer Jackson, if Rudy T. still wants him?
