This is the second time in as many days in which NBA-TV that decide to let us watch the commentators "watch the game" and comment on it. What a bad idea.

During last nights game LAL at SA, I kept thinking to myself, whose bright idea was it to have 3 mumbling idea talk over the game and not have 2 regular commentators actually call the action.

Today they have Dei Lynam and Gail Goodrich "commentating" but all they are doing is mumbling and stuttering about everything except the game itself.

Just had to vent a bit. I feel better now. :D

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. First the annoying sound on the shotclock, and then this... I guess it's simply to try to annoy more people into watching league pass. If they are going to comment while the game is on, I would like for them to at least have a topic that pertains at least a little to the actual game itself, not Lenny Wilkens talking about his 1979 championship.

They did, thankfully, get rid of the shotclock noise in January. Nothing worse than watching a basketball game and having something that sounds like your alarm clock go off 15 times a night.

Yesterday, it appears as if they had issues with the San Antonio feed, which is a real shame because Dick Stockton and Elliott are as good as it gets as far as local broadcasters go. The worst part was the fact that they had the San Antonio scoreboard feed coming through the NBA TV broadcast, so we got those annoying sound effects and song clips. Horrid.

Today is something different, this looks like an actual decision to talk over the game. Gail Goodrich, Lynam, and Wilkens all have interesting stuff to say -- but not for two hours. Big miss on this one.

Otherwise, I thought NBA TV's in-game work this season has been brilliant. Nobody comes up with better stat fodder for the ticker.

well the broadcast I saw was "A Tribute to a Championship"

while the Warriors and Sonica played, they brought in Lenny Wilkens to discuss the 79 champion Sonics, followed by Rick Barry to talk about the 74 champion Warriors. It was relevant to both teams and i thought it was a great segment...

To me, it was good, but not for that long.

For those who have to scout games or need game tapes, and NBA TV is the only source for that game, it's a little frustrating.
