I am curious , does anybody know just how much money we do have for free agents? and how about a few trades, I think we are at a log jam in the front court myself.. Yao Ming Kelvin Cato Eddie Griffin Terrence Morris Maurice Taylor Malick Badiane Jason Collier of course there is an unmovable there in Yao, but I wouldnt mind moving Terrence Morris and Maurice Taylor and Jason Collier. bring in Alonzo, and let him battle it out for rebounds, be our muscle so to speak, and Eddie coming off the bench wouldnt be a bad thing , til he can get his head out of his ass and play with the potential I know he has.. but what about a PG.? I think Stevie should be moved to the 2 spot, and bring in a bonafide PG.. (sorry but Tito Maddux and Moochie Norris are dead weight) ? and news on that front
I believe that its a wait and see sort of thing! Its quite possible that JVG doesn't want to rock the boat too much, until he has tried to correct the multiple problems, he found on the tapes. If he fails to get the required changes , both physical and mental, then possibly he might feel that he is in a position to make the required Roster changes! On the otherhand it was reported that Les wanted to make a big Splaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash going into the new Arena. This might mean that the fun and games haven't even started yet!
actually we don't have a log jam. Yao Ming Kelvin Cato Eddie Griffin Terrence Morris Maurice Taylor Malick Badiane Jason Collier of those players listed above, only Yao, Cato, Taylor and Griffin are bounded to the Rockets contractually. Morris and Collier are free agents, i doubt we bring back Collier, and the Rockets might let Malick play overseas another year or so. So our frontcourt is actually: C: Yao and Cato PF: Taylor and Griffin SF: Rice, Nachbar SG: Mobley PG: Francis, Norris Posey, Hawkins, Maddox are free agents. This summer is gonna be interesting knowing that we only have 9 players under contract, with little/no room under the cap to add any significant help. Hopefully we can resign Posey and pick up some backcourt help.
