I just started watching Holdem poker on TV and there is so much praise about this guy. Is he really the best of the best? The announcers are always talking about him like he's a prophet. it's kinda weird.
Ivey is my favorite...started watching him when he wore that Rockets jersey a few years back. The guy is definitely one of the best poker players out there. He has 7 WSOP bracelets...which is the most ever by someone his age. I believe the most is 11. The guy is a stud.
Im sure its a number of things...from what Ive watched, he can read people very well. He doesnt get beat too often unless the opponent pulls some crap out of their asses on the river. He also makes excellent bets...not too high, but just enough to reel people in and maximize his hands. Very efficient.
when he wants to win he will. he doesnt care half the time... hes like tmac. study Ivey and Negreanu if you want to be a good poker player.
True...he seems to lose patience, but when he's on, he's unstoppable. When he loses, its because he beats himself.
I am a huge Phil fan, or was, when I played alot of hold 'em. I think Negreanu is better than phil though. Negreanu is a genius.
Phil Ivey is a Poker genius. The guys is that GOOD. Most of the time I have seen him lose is when he loses patience.
I have never seen a poker player call out the other guy's cards like Negreanu does, it's just uncanny.
I was just about to post this...the guy must have a record number of calls where he point blank states what the other person has.
