matt reported it as a strained left shoulder and it to be day to day. it may keep chuck out of the LA games but i think he maybe back after that. If I remember right usual strain injuries last about a week with proper treatment. i could be wrong it is not a serious injury though
I guess this has become an injury thread. I'm most concerned with Yao's health....How's his knee feeling? How's his conditioning? When is the brace coming off? and how are his fingers? When will the tape come off? We aren't going anywhere unless Yao is 100 percent.
I am worried about yao's fingers too. he has been very hesistant to grab rebs with that right hand and he has had trouble holding the ball. we have also seen how inconsistent his shot has been the past two games. however, that could just be a function of yao not getting deep enough. anyhow I am worried that this injury won't heal fully before the playoffs with how his hand gets repeatedly smacked. we need yao to be elite going to the post season and he simply doesn't look like that yet...but there is still time
Yao said in the papers that most of the shots he's getting are one's he normally makes. He didn't go as far as saying that the tape is changing his shot, but I just know that's part of the cause of his inconsistant shooting. Hopfully A. Yao heals from this nagging injury or B. Yao learns to deal with the pain. Him not getting to the FT line just baffles me too. He needs to play better.
I know that Yao is a big part of our offense but IMO, the Chuck Wagon is very important in our startin lineup... For sum reason he makes it that much easier for our offense.. such as Mcgrady finding easy passes to him for easy layups, Yao getting doubled and droppin it down to hayes for the easy bucket, and His hustle to fight for the Rebounds(Offensive Ecspecially) and the lose balls... He also makes our bench better with Juwan coming off of it HOPEFULLY CHUCK IS ALRIGHT!!!!!!!!
Just now learned from news that it's not serious and maybe will play next game. Wish the injury would stay away from the Rox men!
Yao took the tape off his fingers the last part of the game, so I'm thinking its got to be getting better. Hayes is day to day.
I don't know if it means he's feeling better, or if he's like screw it, I don't care what my condition my fingers are in so as long as I can make my shots.
It's too soon to know much about Chuck Hayes' shoulder. He left the game in the first quarter after catching a Michael Redd elbow. Hayes, however, did not seem too concerned. "I'm fine," he said. "It's just strained." http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2007/03/with_playoffs_set_question_rem.html
Worst case scenerio, we lose HCA over this. Everyone is going to be there for the first round though.
