is he still going to be a major contributor under rick? can he be a productive undersized PF for adelman the same way kenny thomas was at times? or is he sentenced to a life on the bench haha

    -Play Smart

This alone will get him playing time.

He just has to continue doin' his job. I see Chuck hayes commin' off the bench playin' with passion. He isn't big but he has a great heart for that game and that makes him a great guy. I love his hustle plays and that amazing rebounds.

Hopefully 15-20 min off the bench.

Chuck's role right now is that of an Early Bird restricted Free Agent coming of a $644k/year contract. IOW, there is not even a guarantee he'll be on the roster.

As the roster is as of TODAY he's our only legit 4 man.

So, by default, that makes him a starter.

I think he's back next year, hopefully backing up at 20-25mins a game. He's chicken feed cheap for a contributor and a hardnosed type.

I know we aren't supposed to post from this website... but it had a Morey quote (so I should hope they aren't sticking words in the GM's mouth)

If you can't get to the link here... you can go to my page http://chuckhayesfans.net/ and get to the link to read the whole article.

Now I don't think Morey really believes Chuck will continue to be the starter.. heck I don't even think he will. But I do think that he can still offer a lot as a rotational player off the bench for the Rockets under Adelman.

I do think that until moves are made its sort of silly to try and predict his role. Though its highly unlikely at this point in the off season they could make a miraculous trade for Tim Duncan and then everything would change.

too early to tell. f the rockets draft a PF at #26 then chuck is our starter.

if the rockets are able to make a trade for a PF then i would assume chuck comes off the bench.

Chuck has earned a place on the team! No way does he deserve to be the starting Power Forward! If he is the starting Power Forward then the Rockets have not made the roster improvements, which we are anticipating and we can expect another repeat perfpormance 52-55 wins out first round. So far we have gained a bench player who is a Shooting Guardand & traded our starting Power Forward.

well he wont be kenny thomas, but he should be productive. he moves well without the ball and does a good job of finding the soft spot in the defense. He handles the ball well and is a pretty good passer.

if u don't LOVE chuck hayes theres is something absolutely wrong with you. he shouldnt start, if we want to be contenders chuck hayes CANNOT start, what he can do is be our energizer battery coming off the bench, his proved he will play his ass off and hustle every second of the game, players like him and battier hold alotta their value because of this, and it is important. his a keeper off the bench, he fits best here, i think he knows that, rox gave him the chance to prove himself, he might still be in d-league otherwise, his a good guy, and rockets will give him a fair deal, which he'll take, done :D

Chuck should not start .come on. That's ridiculous.

Can the Rockets finally get a legitimate PF for Yao?

Do you not remember what happened with Utah? Our lack of a real PF killed us. We need to find a decent starting PF, and Chuck is not it. He's good off the bench, but not as a starter.

I think Chuck should train with this guy:

I think chuck will still have a role with the Rocks (he isn't worth much on the block) but it will be a smaller role, definitely. Chuck has heart, adn I think thats what I like the most about him. If he could transplant that to T-mac, life would be awesome...

I expect hustling and energy from him off the bench. I think he can be very efficient in spurts and provide a spark when he enters the game.

Honestly, anything more would be a sign of trouble.

We HAVE to upgrade the PF spot. Right now, it's so bad, I'm extremly intrigued by the thought of Anderson Varejao

Is Chuck a moneyball player? Or an end-of-the-bench-to-the-coach-feel-happy player? I suspect the latter. I also suspect that RA (like RT) expects a minimum amount offensive ability from each of his rotation players. The best CH could hope for may be the 12th man or IR.
