People all say he's undersized, but he seems to be doing well at the C position. But when we play teams with elite PFs, Chuck is the guy we rely to stop them. However if Morey decides to bring a starting C to the team, would Chuck Hayes be backing up the Centre position more or backing up Luis Scola?
PF, no doubt, we are a below average team with Chuck at center but if we had a good starting center and Chuck at the 4 spot then it'd be different.
He is a PF. Luis Scola is also a PF. Here's a question I have: Why do we consider Scola to be a PF and Chuck to be a 6'6 center? Why not say Chuck is a 6'6 PF and Scola is the 6'9 C? They're both PFs, but Scola is the one that actually jumps center.
The wagon is a backup PF. Our future-starting center should be as defensive minded as Chuck Hayes; thus positively continuing the flow of our current personnel within the lineups.
Thought it was more obvious than not, but Scola isn't the sharpest tool in the shed for defending centers
Because positions are generally defined by the defensive assignment. Hayes can guard C's. Scola cannot. Also Hayes shots come from within 5 feet, whereas Scola's shots come from all over the map. Hayes natural position is PF. However he's probably most effective playing next to a center that can somewhat space the floor. How many of them are out there? So while he his natural position might be PF, it actually might make more sense to to play him at C.
no... point guard. He's taller than the traditional point guard, but can rebound and is a great passer and would be match-up hell for opposing PGs. Not the best and handling the rock, but with additional PT at the PG position, he can turn into a Rajon Rando-esque type player, but taller, thicker version (sense the sarcasm  )
He's a diet coke version of Charles Barkley without the jump shot. A true PF in every sense of the word.
