jiggy used the term in the Hangout: I'm curious to hear what people think about the term--what is a MAGA type? do MAGA types exist? are MAGA types fat? what else distinguishes a MAGA type? is "MAGA type" a neutral term or does it reflect a set of particular values held by those who use it? genuinely curious.
Take a Bayesian perspective on this and understand that when I describe certain observations, they are not universally true, that the person is in fact a MAGA type. That said, I've tended to notice, a lot of MAGA-ers own trucks with big wheels. They also love American flag stickers and Come and Take It stickers with cannons firing. They wears hats even indoors. They wear UV protected shades even indoors. They tend to be white, although the Hispanic MAGA-ers I've noticed tend to come from evangelical Christian backgrounds who genuinely believe that the existence of dinosaur fossils is the devil tricking humanity away from true salvation from the Lord Jesus Christ. They tend to prop up the one or two black friends they have on their Facebook and the one or two conservative voices who happen to be Asian, gay, Hispanic or Black, say something marginally offensive, cite a meme from a conservative minority who says the marginally offensive thing for them, and then offer no input on their thoughts on the linked meme other than saying, #truth! They also have multiple social media accounts, which only makes me suspicious that they join private social media groups deemed not safe for work, family or society and don't want anyone that matters to them who might take issue to know about it. It's either that, or they are the type to get that side piece action away from their significant other and create other social media accounts to avoid an easier to follow paper trail of infidelity.
A "MAGA type" is a person that possesses a seemingly limitless mastery in all manner of study and--dare I say--life itself: hard sciences, philosophy, the arts, athletics, socioeconomics, geopolitics, interpersonal relationships. Already known as or destined to be a captain of industry, the MAGA type's feet stand in his own country, but he surveys the world as his eyes gaze over the brim of his 64-ounce thermos full of Pepsi.

Fatties (no shame!) should get vaxxxed. A maga type would not do what I wrote as a matter of defiance and uhhh empowerment.

By their preferred social media content they digest, their preferred friends and family, and preferred politicians they're willing to publicly and financially support. And they're also fat. Huge.
I know heavy people on both sides. But, I'd wager that more are MAGAs simply because the states they tend to reside in have a more obese population.
admittedly this is an unscientific sample, but assuming the hats being worn in these photos reflect these fellows' sincerely held convictions, I'm not sure I'm seeing a correlation between hat color, MAGA type, and obesity. I guess the first individual may be obese, but from the looks of it he simply has more muscle mass than belly fat. The second fellow just looks, well, skinny to me.
