I have a 2.97 Overall. Majoring in Psych and wondering if thats pretty good or not. Considering I have 2 D's and 3 C's in my transcript ill say thats not bad. I still have time to bring it up above a 3.0 for grad school. but is that any good if it was your GPA?
well I'm in HS and for me a 4.0+ would be considered good for me. however in college, probably a 3.25
Depends on your major. For psyc. I'd say no. Engineering or something, yes. I had a 3.4 when i graduated from the psyc and communications departments but I knew a lot of people with 3.6-3.8....I'd say 3.0 is average for psychology.
Sounds like you're a dumbass. I'd quit now and start waiting tables or something. School just isn't for you.
Lol...Nothing with that degree....I also got a degree in Communications/advertising etc and I'm currently working in that field
Keep in mind your GPA doesnt mean $hit when youre looking for a job, unless its like a 2.0 or lower. However, if you are planning on going to grad school, it matters a lot. Usually nothing below a 3.0 gets in unless you do extremely well on the entrance exams.
2.97 isn't bad but if you're wanting into grad school I have always been told a 3.0+ is a must for grad school. Then I found out that isn't necessarily true because I had a friend get in to grad school with a 2.98 in the psychology field she just didn't get into the advanced standing program which means she had to attend for 2 years instead of 1.
A good GPA is whatever GPA is needed to make you marketable in your chosen field (upon leaving college for the first time). Sometimes a high GPA isn't necessary depending on your major and what all is required for whatever kind of job you're trying to get.
FYI- Grad school is BS......lol.....Seriously, not to burst any bubbles but if you are going to continue with school after a bachelors make sure you are going for a doctorate. Anything less is a waste of time and money.
I figured a psych major like yourself would be able to analyze the statement and conclude that I was joking. Or perhaps my initail statement was true and the sudden realization that all of your hard work has been for nothing. But then again that probably isn't it because if you could make those conclusions, you would probably have a higher GPA. Here, I'll help you out on your new career path. 86 means that the kitchen is out of something.
At the age of 42 now, I can tell you that other than qualifying for a higher education, it doesn't matter one iota. One of the best guys I ever worked for, quit college to start his own company and made 25 million at the age of 23..... Now he makes movies..... College is fun....and gets a foot in the door, nothing more, IMHO. DD
Let me try and analzye you: You're a Software Integration Engineer from the Woodlands with a fetish for p*rn?
what matters as much as what you know is who you know. sounds unoriginal and cliche? then it means you've never heard the sound of success before either.
i consider 3 average, 3.5 good, and 4.0 amazing. i have a 3.3 - but only because i drank too much during my second year (2.6 that year).
