What if the rockets finish 40-42 next season. JVG, Winds up not helping the team what so ever and the team winds up losing more games with JVG Coaching. Wouldn't that just suck...... I think this team is good but if JVG has some problems along how the west is just getting better again. Well, we might as well get a big free agent, cause teams are boosting up in the west. Lets just hope this doesn't happen. Rudy could be a better coach. But anyways as a rockets fan i would just be damn upset!! and probably call les up and say hey, why didn't you sign a good free agent over the off season. Well Yao Ming will be better, maybe 15 ppg and 8.9 rebs. I dont know if Steve and Cat will be real good this year. I just see a team like last years. Fighting with Phonix to get into the playoffs, unless the jazz lose malone and make a spot for us. But the way Stockton has retired even if malone stays they might not make the playoffs, so maybe the rockets may be pretty good next season, getting the 8th spot or 7th spot easy. Lets hope so.
A coaching change had to be made, so forget the what if we still had Rudy scenario. However, it's not guaranteed that will be a lot better next season, in comparison to the rest of the West. It now looks as though Juwan is headed to Minnesota, which should secure their place in the playoffs. We will need to beat out some perennial playoff teams to make it in, but I think we can do it with JVG. Here is my prediction: 1. Lakers 2. San Antonio 3. Dallas 4. Sacramento 5. Portland 6. Minnesota 7. Houston 8. Phoenix 8. Utah 9. Grizz 10. Clips 11. Golden State 12. Denver If JVG has us playing to our potential, I think we can be as high as #5, but this is my "realistic bet."

Well, even if major injuries are suffered, that still counts against the coach if they don't make the playoffs. Witness the "4 years, no playoffs" line used against Rudy. So if they don't make the playoffs next year, it will be Van Gundy's fault no matter what.
If they finish at or below .500 next season, expect some major roster moves next summer. Basically, everyone not named Yao Ming would get run. That being said, barring major injuries, I can't imagine this team not winning at least 45 games, and possibly 50.
