Blazers got two easy home games left. They could easily win out. We might lose 1 to the Dallas. That would put blazers at 3rd, us at 4th and Spurs at 5th. We might end up playing the SPurs. I know Ginobilli is done but I never take the Spurs lightly!!!

We could easily lose both of our remaining games ... which means we'd potentially face Spurs without home court advantage.

Uh, the Spurs have to lose one too....they are tied with us in the loss column....

I would not mind 5th though, I think we win against any team other than the Lakers with homecourt, but we lose to most as the visitor.

However, San Antonio is the exception of the top teams, we beat them regardless of whether we have homecourt or not.......with one caveat....a healthy Yao Ming.

Hmm, what's up with all these WHAT IF we play.. threads, there's a thread called Magic Numbers and another simulation thread that's stickied. PLUS, there would have to be a lot of complications for SA to play us including losses for us. I don't see it happening.

We need to win all the remaining games to ensure the #3 seed, maybe #2 if Portland could beat Denver.

what if Yao breaks his leg, what if ron decides to go make another album, what if Luis scola misses argentina and goes home, what if, what if....can't we just wait and see? It's only a few days away...

If we were 5th we would have to play LA or Utah in 2nd round

I agree. We are known to play well in AT&T Center so it wouldn't be a big adventage for the Spurs.

They don't have Ginobili which is a big loss for them. But you also gotta take a look at Duncan. His knees have given up on him and he is not gonna be effective in the playoffs. I do belive Scola could outplay him, especially with those knees.

The only adventage they have is Tony Parker. He usually kills Aaron and every time we meet he causes us a lot of problem.

But I like our chances against Spurs. I do think they are pretty much done, just too old.

We could beat the Spurs provided we get Parker to tire himself out early in the series, Duncan doesn't make a miracle recovery and we don't forget that the team is full of role players that could actually pose a serious problem for us if we don't play enough team defense.

Even with out MG, this would be a chore to knock them out in the first round. They are so scrappy and have an incredible will to win. I also think Duncan does a decent job on Yao and Parker is a huge match up issue for us. Doable with homecourt, but not fun.
