Although some fans and even media are questioning Rudy's coaching ability, he did win 2 championships for Houston. Rudy designed perfect game plans for Hakeem & Co. but he's stuck with these plans even after Hakeem's prime.

Now, is Rudy able to win a championship without the best low post offensive/defensive player in the game? In another word, does he have the ability to change his game plans according to his personnel and make the best out of them?

Let's put Rudy on the head coaching position of 89-90 Pistons, 91-93, 96-98 Bulls, 99 Spurs and 00-02 Lakers. Do you think he could win a couple of championships?

    My pick:

    Pistons: NO
    91-93 Bulls: NO
    96-98 Bulls: YES
    Spurs: NO
    Lakers: Yes

He had arguably the best or 2nd best (behind jordan) player on the planet during that span so running an 'in-out' style of play was a no brainer. Would he have won a ring with another team?

I imagine that the only teams he could PROBABLY with are:

    Lakers and Spurs

Why? Because his only successful scheme was the 'in out' play where if Dream was double/triple/quadruple teamed then he would kick out for the open three.

With the Lakers, i think he might win one. It took Phil Jackon's zen crap to reel in the egos of Shaq and Kobe. Could Rudy do that? Unlikely. But if we were holding everything else constant and the only thing changing is team strategy and execution, Rudy could work that inside-outside play with Shaq and co.

With the Spurs, same situation. They had the big men and they had the shooters. So I am pretty sure this team would have won w/ Rudy IF everythin else was held constant.

I picked the 96-98 Bulls because MJ played low/high post game then.

the team just isn't good enough.

None I mean none of his player made an all NBa 1st 2nd or 3rd team. that means he dosen't have abonafide superstar.

Plus he is in the West
