What result do you guys think would occur if we picked Kevin Martin instead of Ron Artest? Was just looking at last year's score sheet for Artest and boy was he good but just doesn't click with our offense.

Another SG? I'm pretty sure that we chose Artest because of his ability to take over the Forward position that we have such a hard time filling up.

But then again, everybody at the SG position on the Rockets are known for being hated upon for horrible shooting nights.

Play Carl Landry, Von Wafer more and have Ron Artest come off the bench with Battier and McGrady starting. I think that would fix the Artest problem.

    My starting w/ healthy rockets:

    McGrady
    Alston
    Scola
    Battier
    Ming

    Rotate with:

    Landry
    Wafer
    Artest
    Brooks
    Head
    Barry

If we have an option to trade, we need a back-up C or PF for the tired Yao so that we don't have to watch Scola get run over by beasts during the 3rd and 4th. Also, we don't want to fill in the other F and G positions with people who aren't fit for them.

Although Ron played not well recently, but it still to early to conclude, later he may prove himself. If we hadnt trade him, where would Ron gone, Lakers, Heat or Knicks, of course the best to us is Ron went to eastern league.

Martin is their best player. They were never going to deal him to us.

We are like 16 game into the season. So, wait a little more before concluding that Artest isnt a good fit for this team cuz me I am sure that he s going to get back his offense. His defense is already good. It s just a matter of time.

wats up with people making ridiculous possibilities like this? i hate all this wat if crap. come on man, our team is wat it is right now, we're a little banged up at the moment and we have yet to get a consistent lineup since the season started. sorry if i offended anyone, im just pissed we lost but suggesting something like we should have taken Kevin Martin instead of Artest is just dumb to me. if thats the case then anyone can start a thread said they could have Jason Colins and Richard Jefferson instead of the late E. Griffin. or trading for Pipen. the list goes on. lets just concentrate with who we have at hand.

T-Mac, Battier, Barry is currently banged up. its like we dont really had a proper team. the team just havent played enough to gel together. anyway, i guess we're not too bad cos the other power houses are facing problems as well, Suns, Spurs, Mavs (i wouldnt wanna be a Mav fan knowing they traded away Devin Harris), Hornets is off to a slow start as well. do remember, we only started gelling as a team after January last season. at the moment, wat we need is health, not the possibility of taking K. Martin instead of Artest.

Look at Adelman's comments.. "We did pretty well". Artest says we did well, everyone on the team says we did well.. what does that mean? Somethings wrong with them.

So far I've watched all the games, of course we haven't seen mcgrady with battier together. But whenever Artest has the ball he ruins the whole offense system. Its not a one man show, its everyone's show. I'm even more angry than you are.

i think Adelman is being positive. actually, he also did mention that Artest might come off the bench when Artest first came here. i think Battier should start and Artest should be the leader in the 2nd unit, some sort like Ginobli. anyway lets wait til everyone is healthy and we hope the team will get better.

That was arguable last year, even Theus couldn't decide.

Martin was obviously their guy though. He was younger and had less baggage.

I don't know how many times we have to go back to this though. Of course the rockets would have been better with a better jump shooter but all we gave up to get Ron was a low 1st round pick and Bobby Jackson.

I'm not convinced we'd have been better off with a jump shooter. In my mind, there aren't any jump shooter that were realistically available. Artest is playing poorly, no doubt, but it's still early, and I suspect he will thrive as a sixth man.
