    What I did tonight

As usual, my wife came home from work, I fed her a nice meal, and she passed out on the couch in front of the big screen

I poked around on the Internet for a while, and then I said "screw it" and grabbed a bottle of Shiraz, poured me a glass, walked into the media room, plopped down in my favorite chair and popped in "Donnie
    Darko."

Now....Apocolypse Now is my all time favorite movie, and Dances with Wolves, Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, and the first Godfather are also in the top ten.

I'm trying to figure out where Donnie Darko fits in.......it's somewhere between two and six.

Seeing as I've had a bottle of wine and Jeff saw fit to have a "five favorite bands of all time," what are your five favorite movies of all times?

and why don't you just name the thread five favorite movies?

MY favorite movie is the never ending story one and two

and Encino Man. Sean Astin was great in that movie.

Pauly Shore was the best though.

Bands are easy...this is just way too tough of a question.

Off the top of my head though...I'll probably leave something out.

    Billy Madison
    Happy Gilmore
    Half Baked
    Major League 1 and 2
    Goodfellas OR Godfather OR Casino

There's a few interesting picks. Blame it on Rio? Little Shop of Horrors? I guess those movies spoke to you on a different level than they did with me.

    3. Fargo
    4. A Hard Day's Night
    5. Lost In Translation (this isn't just because it's a current fave--it's moving up the list)

It'll be difficult if you're not in New Mexico, but let me know if you are.

I liked Naked Lunch a lot. Long time since I saw it. Cronenberg, right?

Have you seen Dancer in the Dark? It's by Lars Von Trier, same guy that did Breaking the Waves. Both movies are incredible and the acting in both is totally heartwrenching.

p.s. to Pole (just cause he's a Dances With Wolves fan):

One of my very best friends, who very unfortunately passed last year, was a movie prop guy. He built the buffaloes for that movie. I used to see a couple of them whenever I visited his prop shop.
