This thread is about what you have enjoyed , loved about what the Rockets have done this season..... there is to be no negativity in this thread... no player x does this well but why can't he do this, no if only we had this player.... and certainly no arguing....... just be positive, surely if you chose to watch the games you must find something enjoyable about the games, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant....

    1. Cuttino, his further improvement, the D, the outside shooting
    2. The acquisition of Jimmy Jackson, i have been more than impressed with what he has brought to the table for the rockets this season.. a great mixed bag of skills
    3. JVG getting them to play intense defense
    4. Cato providing interior toughness and rebounding and improved catching and finishing, the master of the close range alley-oop
    5. Steve and his improved defense, and his attempted transition from pass second to pass first, the seed is planted
    6. Really enjoyed what Boki has done
    7. The new uniforms are damn sweet.. especially when i now have one...
    8. Yao - damn this guy is improving fast and has started to work out the need for consistent aggression while at the same time showing us his outside range on his jumper and great touch... foot speed is also getting better
    9. The work of Calvin and Bill
    10. The Lakers and Pacers wins standout for me and also the Yao mega game v the Pistons
    11. Tim and Hai in the rockets office
    12. JVG - the D is better, the intensity is better and running the sidelines is great....
      [/list=1]

    1) Yao: When he goes up an GRABS rebounds!
    2) Yao: On getting position in the post even when it gets physical.
    2) The addition of MJ adds some stability; refreshing
    3) JJ's and Mobley's 3 point percentage is very good
    4) JJ's ablity to create his own shots during the game, and at the end of the game.
    5) JVG adding discipline.
    6) JVG stressing the importance of ball movement over ISO
    7) MoT thriving coming off the bench.
    8) The fact that we actually are running set plays; there's a real game-plan!!!
    9) Spoon playing better than I thought he would (He was a very good center when he was with Philly).

definately beating Pacers and Lakers. I was so excited and had so much hope for how we would continue to play for the rest of the season.

Number one for me. Thought that was when we sharked the jump.

Smegg...congratulations. I only even came in here because it was your thread...usually I avoid these Optimism Now! threads, but as it's yours, I will assume it has merit.

I have thought that, while incomplete, Yao's development has been encouraging.

Cuttino's use of the ability to play up on D has been a positive.

The speed with which JVG molded us into a serious defensive team has been honestly astonishing. You can sacrifice offense as we have doen and see serious artificial improvement, but much of ours has been real.

Jackson's play as an occassional point forward has been something we haven't seen since Rockin' Rodney, even with Pippen.

Mo Taylor has, I think, found his niche; instant and effective offense off the bench.

    Moochie's departure. 'Nuff said.

    The uniforms.

    Accountability.

I've loved actually looking foreward to the playoffs. I don't think I was old enough to drive last time I said that.

    My 2 cents....

    1) Defense.
    2) Cuttino buying into the defensive scheme.
    3) Ball movement...not every quarter, but it's there.
    4) Kelvin Cato taking pride is his role as a starter.
    5) Getting rid of Moochie.
    6) The win over the TWolves.
    7) Jim Jackson's steadying influence on the younger team.
    8) TC and the new Uni's.
    9) Slow but steady improvement of Yao Ming.
    10) Mo T in shape and producing off of the bench.
    11) Less ISO oriented half court sets.
    12) Watching the bench pull for the players on the court...definite sign of true comraderie.
    13) A legit shot at the #6 playoff seed.
    14) Very few minutes lost from injuries to rotational players.
    15) Moving Glen Rice.

No doubt Mo T and Cato's(well not lately) Improvement.

I loved some of the big games we have come through on. The Kings, Lakers, T-Wolves, Pacers...

Steve and Yao being in the ASG

Signing JJ for the price at what he did, and the contributions he has made.

    Trading Moochie
    Trading for Spoon
    Not Trading for Sheed
Not trading any of our core players

Someone finally disagreeing with something dictator Gundy says. (go steve ;))

Getting rid of the crappy contracts ie: rice

Getting rid of Eg before he took the team down with him.

Getting in this BBS before registration was closed ;)

JVG's post-game comments. His dry wit is often as entertaining as the game itself.

And the astonishing number of nationally televised games. I haven't lived in Houston for almost a decade, so for me this is heaven!
