Over the past few years with limited time to get exercise, I've tired a few of those gimmicky exercise thingamabobs. No progress on this end!

I was going to buy OXY-CLEAN from the commercial but ended up getting it at Walgreens. The stuff works great and has many uses. I recently used it to shampoo my carpets and it worked great

Getting ready for a Bowflex...Does it work. I've used my parents soloflex before, but I wasn't happy w/ it.

Oxi Clean does work. I've used that on my laundry. I bought it at Linens and Things for much less.

I wanted that phloebe.

I love my Bowflex(except that one time it flew apart during an incline bench press and gashed my forehead....err)...I've had one for 3 or 4 years.

I like the feel of it and the various exercises you can do with it. I have the lateral pulldown, leg attachment, squat add-on, and row attachment. I like them all. I think the pulldown and leg attachments are must haves...but that's just me. The rowing attachment is a bar and feet clamps which definitely help. The squat add-on is good for not only squats but bench presses and curls as well.

I've never used a soloflex so I don't know about that. I am happy with the results from my Bowflex but it's not going to do the work for you....you have to do that. Soloflex uses rubber bands and Bowflex uses power rods...like a bow. I'm not sure how it compares to free weights but free weights are a pain. This baby is easy to use and change exercises with and folds up.

I think anyone that buy's one and returns it is crazy...but it happens. I think people get psyched by the commercial and don't end up using it CAUSE THEIR LAZY AND FIND EXCUSES NOT TO. The commercial got me to buy one and I...to this day...am still happy with my purchase(plus I got it for free basically after settling for my accident). I recommend buying the extra 200 lbs and bringing it to full capacity for those leg presses.

The machine is an excellent design and I still marvel at what all it can do. Be sure to look it over every once in a while to make sure all the bolts are fastened and so on. I love the motion and feel of the lifts. The best thing is you don't need a spotter for anything.

It would have been easy for me to sell it after my injury but I got back on board and it definitely gets you in great shape the more you use it. If your one of those who lives and dies by free weights, then forget about it and go to a gym.

We recently bought one of those food sealers, the one that sucks the air out of the bag and vacuum seals your food in. It works great. We also just bought a deep freeze, so now we can keep leftovers frozen neatly for months at a time!

MadMax: How un-American! ;)

We have had a Foreman grill for 2-3 years and use it all the time. It's a great product.

I resisted the Oxi-clean for about 2 years and picked some up at Sam's Club. I wasn't too impressed with anything it did for the laundry but maybe other uses are better?

I've salivated over the Bowflex but have resisted thus far.

A few years back the wife bought some juice machine maker from a infomercial. She used it for a while and then it sat under the counter-never to be used again. I do want the Bowflex though.

I always wanted one of those, do you want to sell it:)

My wife got some of that Nads stuff. I gave it a test run to see if it worked, GRRRRRRRRR it was like someone put duct tape on my arm and ripped it off, I then began to bleed and had scabs because of it. then in the commercial the guy is saying "didnt hurt a bit" I am sure they pulled the camera away from his leg to not show the bleeding and I could have swore I saw his eyes water when he said it. Nads does not work, my wife thought her leg hair would be a thing of the past, its not

Couple more comments about the BowFlex :).

1.) Those guys in the commercial with all those ripped muscle....for God's sake....lay off the rice cakes man!!!!!!!! Do you ever eat? Get a life and quit working out every second of every hour of every day. Quit trying to mislead the public like you got that body on the BowFlex alone. We know you are genetically altered HE-MEN.

2.) 20 minutes a day my aching ass. I put in 45 mins - 60 mins each workout. 20 minutes a day may get your muscles in an active state where they aren't sore...but you sure as hell can't do enough exercise in that 20 minutes to increase muscle mass. The commercial wants you to believe 20 minutes a day and you'll look like mr. tough guy in the commercial. BS

3.) One commercial had some dude lifting 240 free weights and when he got on the BowFlex he couldn't lift near that much. So, their implying that BowFlex weight is heavier. I don't know about that...I have my doubts. When you first start off the power rods are stiff as hell but as soon as you break them in they flex easier and lose some resistance. So, I'm not exactly sure how it would compare to free weights or actual weight. I believe it is probably +/- 5 to 10 pounds. Could be more or less. I haven't done the comparison to free weights. I doubt it's a pound for pound match.
That's some pretty good acting by those people...nice that they can take an objective look like that(I was pretty skeptical when I saw that commercial).

4.) Before I bought one, the commercial was on every damn second it seemed like. It's still on every damn second. That alone got me wondering if it's so great, then why show it so damn much. I think the answer is because they have the money for all that advertising and they really do sell alot of them. I thought I would be disappointed with it but I really liked it and it grew on me.

5.) They put these little rubber o-rings on the cable and they have a tendency to slide up and down....or wear down and get loose. It can be frustrating to be lifting and the o-ring is sliding around on the cable and through the pulley wheel. It gives you an uneven lift and makes it more difficult....usually it only happens on one side. The o-ring is the biggest flaw. Move that sucker to the very top out of the way if it moves around at the bottom. I've seen a few BowFlex machines with o-rings sliding around...don't understand how they can get a machine design right but ***** up the 1 cent o-rings....ARGH!!!!!!!!!!

6.) One of those guys in the older commercials with all the ripped muscles read a post of mine in a fitness forum so he sent me an e-mail with nice comments and a t-shirt....whoopie. Thanks for that. It was kind of nice. It was that dude named Randy...I think he was the first muscle/salesman for the BowFlex. That was before it busted on my head and I nearly bled to death in a state of confusion :).

7.) If one side doesn't feel right or lifts easier than the other, then check your bolts and make sure their tightened....especially around the pulley wheels. I got a bad one and didn't even know it. Then, the damn pulley wheel flies off and hits me in the head. They have since re-designed the part to prevent those mishaps.

8.) I was told by their support that on rare occassions a power rod will break but I've never had it happen and I've got a lot of flexes on mine. Those things are pretty damn durable.

9.) The BowFlex can make some strange noises sometimes....whether it's the rods, the seat, or whatever. Don't worry...this is normal. Sometimes, the seat bolts come loose and you hear them rattle. Just tighten them back up if it happens.

10.) Don't burn yourself out by doing too much too fast. Pace yourself. Use light weight to get a feel for the motion and form. Learn the correct way for each exercise by reading the manual and doing it. Don't assume your doing it correctly. If it doesn't feel right, then you may be doing it wrong.
