Let's face it, seeing Olajuwon play the way he has the last few games brings a tear to the eye. I haven't gotten chills from watching a Dreamshake bucket like this in years. This is what I've hoped the Rockets would be like all year long - one cohesive, energetic unit. An Olajuwon that goes out there - healthy - and gives everything he has in limited minutes. Teamed with Steve and Cat, making us a serious threat. Anyone have any thoughts as to why? What has changed with Olajuwon? Obviously we're winning because he's a force down low once again. The rebounding and blocking numbers tell me he's playing with energy more than anything else. Energy we haven't seen in years. ------------------ Proud Member of whatever Clutch City club is currently the most popular and/or controversial.
Good question. Whatever it is, I hope it stays in him for the rest of the season. ------------------ 5..4..3..2..1.....We have lift off! Go Rockets!

maybe one of following: a) he finally finds himself (almost) healthy b) he feels shamed of this bad publicity and he trying make it up c) he is in last year of his contract and wants raise his value d) he simple wants to show, that he's still better then Patric Ewing ------------------
I think the most important thing is that his shots are falling now. I don't know if it is that he is finally in better shape or what, but he definitely has his shot back. I can remember several times earlier in the year when he would get the ball pretty close to the basket, put on his Dream Shake (though not quiite as fluidly as now), and miss the shot. I'm sure that was discouraging to whoever it was that passed to him. Now that he is hitting his shots, no one is afraid to get him the ball. It really creates a domino effect because the more shots he takes the better feeling he has and so on. Or, maybe it's body snatchrs. Who knows? ------------------ Kenny Thomas had a foul called on him in the Western Conference Finals.
The shot is definitely there, but I wonder if it's the other way around? The rebounding and blocking are a sign he's really into the games....maybe the scoring is a result of that? ------------------ Proud Member of whatever Clutch City club is currently the most popular and/or controversial.
I think it was the one New York game. He felt energized, proved to himself and his teammates that he can still play, and that gave him renewed confidence about the season. He really has that hunger back, and you can see it by his energy on the court. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
