    I'm an idiot.

I have been at the computer since 9AM straight, refreshing the GARM literally every 20 seconds for updates. Naturally, I have gotten nothing done all day and want to kill myself now.

I should have limited myself to checking in at the top of every hour. (On the flip side, it gets difficult to navigate through long threads for news snippets.)

I'm going to have to go in with a better strategy next year. This was terrible.

I haven't had one. I've been on this site long enough to know that when something happens, you know pretty damn quickly. I don't mind being 15-20 minutes late in a news breaking story.

the garm is always hard to navigate, unless it's after a big win when you're so overjoyed that the bullisht doesnt matter and you just smile at it

This is by far the best approach and what I tell myself to do all the time. Yet every damn year, there I am clicking away as if seeing the news in real time makes some significant difference.

    Hit F5 every minute.

Seriously though, we have to find a way to compress the dumb****... seriously.

    I'm also an idiot.

Like a junkie, I keep telling myself 5 more minutes, and now the day is over.

I did it yesterday focusing on the Cavs, today on the Rockets. I hate myself.

this is rough. there was like a 1-2 hour surge of constant info a couple of hours ago and now we're in a serious lull. yet i'm still clicking.

Now I know what it feels like to be a nerd geekin out on Woot when they have a "WOOT OFF" trying to get the Bag of crap. My strategy is to leave the office and go look for business. Anything to get me away from the computer!

Just a question for those of you who were here when Yao got drafted, Was that the absolute worst the GARM has ever been?

Of course people are complaining because we have yet to make a move.

They even whined because Morey held a press conference and didn't announce any breaking news. I wasn't expecting Morey to announce anything big.

I think the GARM exploded when we choked game 7 against the Jazz.

Well usually the threads people post more replies on get pushed to the top, so I usually look at those and instead of going through the pages(which usually most have a ton), I usually jump straight to the last page(s) of the thread to see how serious it is. Usually in the pages in between people are discussing how they feel about it, and if there is really anything serious in the pages that I skipped, I am always sure to find someone who replied to one of those serious posts, in their own reply to it.
Just did it on the Vince thread actually to find out the deal was done :)

I just check at the top of the hour. There's really no point in constantly checking since you'll find out eventually anyways. What's the point in dealing with all the rookies and 15 year olds starting a thread about every useless piece of garbage info that gets floated out there?

Well, my strategy is checking the draft thread for any new posts. I then press f5 a couple times and then move onto the Photoshop Amare/rumor merge thread and repeat.

After this I head on over to realgm/slamonline/nba.com and check for any news. If there is any news I come back to the bbs to find that it's already been posted.

    Rinse and repeat.

Game 7 vs. the Mav's was pretty sick in there too.
