What happens with the winning streak after the season ends?

    I am a little worried about how the winning streak gets counted when the season ends. So the Rockets will have won 38 in a row when the season ends. What happens after that? I mean, I think we will probably lose a couple of games in the first round of the playoffs against the #8 seed (Dallas if they manage to make the playoffs). So does that officially end the streak? Or does the streak count into next season when Yao is back and the Rockets are virtually indestructible?

    In every other sport, a regular season ending streak continues the next year. Usually with some sort of caveat saying "going back to last season."

    No the streak is only counted for the season in which it is made.
    Even though others make up stats running through one season to the next- they are unofficial stats!!!!!!!!!!! :p

    Wonder if the Rockets will make a banner of the streak when it ends and hang it in the rafters. Maybe list all the victims and the scores in the banner.

    That would be sweet.

    Yeah maybe replace some of those Aeros banners...nothing against the Aeros, just that I don't think you need a three-panel banner to celebrate their championship.

    So, I guess we will be on a 120 game winning streak at the end of the next regular season and an 858 game winning streak after the next decade.

    Why even watch? It's a given.
