    Rockets, Spurs, Nuggets, Portland all end with the same record?

    This sounds pretty far fetched but not as much if you look at the records/games left.

    Houston (4-0):
    @SAC
    @GSW
    NO
    @DAL

    Analysis: NOs at home SHOULD be a win. 3 away games yes, but 2 are versus SAC (god awful team) and GSW (a god awful team w/out Jax and some other players). @DAL is an amazingly intriguing matchup but if you look at last couple of years (including that playoff series in which the refs screwed us) the Mavs have SUCKED when Yao has played any decent amount of minutes (30+), so I feel Rockets can take that too.

    Portland (4-0):
    LAL
    @LAC
    OKC
    DEN

    Analysis: Seriously could this be a better schedule. People might say Lakers are on it, but historically (including recent years) the Lakers have been HORRIBLE in the Rose Garden, the rest of there games should be wins (barring something ridiculous)

    SAS (4-0):
    UTH
    @SAC
    @GSW
    NO

    Analysis: This on paper are all easy matchups, but the Spurs have been bad. Still UTH and NOs at home should be wins (because both are awful vs. +0.500 teams on the road). SAC and GSW are road wins, but as discussed before not good at all...

    DEN (2-2):
    @LAL
    OKC
    SAC
    @POR

    Analysis: LAL and Por should be loses without a doubt. Bynum is set to return on this game vs. the Nuggets and Portland is great at home, other 2 should be sure wins.

    If this happens 4 teams @ 54-28. Where do we go from here?

    If this was to happen, Houston would end up as the #2 seed, and I think SAS would finish 5th.

    well, if we end up at the top of our division we will be 2nd seed, then the next team will be ever whos at the top of the division between portland and denver. the 4th and 5th will be decided by tiebreaker

    But if we are tied with SA, won't they win the division ahead of us based on division winning %?

    How so? I don't care if they have Gino or not, Utah outside of being NO (who they dominate every year since CP3 and Deron were drafted) they can't beat ANYONE on the road. Look at the Dallas game, they are getting killed already.

    we should avoid to meet them
    i think 3 seed is our best choice

    I would think so?

    In the (unlikely) event of a 4-way tie, first you determine the division champions (so SAS with the superior division record against us) and then work out other seedings from there.

    I'm not sure who has the tie break between Denver and Portland, but one of them wins their division, and then the other is the #5 seed as we beat both in a head2head.

    Well, if what things happen as he predicts, both us and SA would have the same division record at 10-6.

    If we go 4-0 our division record will be the same as the Spurs as we will get 2 more division wins....and they will get one.

    thats true.
    but the rockets arent aiming for the 3 seed. theyre just gonna go out and win as much as they can.

    like in 04-05.
    the 6th seed would've been best for us to advance. they would've killed the sonics. but they just went out and won as much as they could and ended with the 5 seed.

    In this rare case, division title should be determined firstly. Look at the division and conference records, SA will tie exactly with Hou. We have to go for the 3rd tie-breaker. I think HOU has better record against other TOP 8 west opponents. So HOU>SA.
    Meanwile, Den will be ahead of POR.
    I think the order should be like HOU>DEN>SA>POR.

    yea i know, but today's game at portland was pretty bad. portland killed the spurs on 2nd half of a back to back. duncan was taken out with like 7 min left because he was playing terrible, it looks like hes not healthy. pop said something like "you can be a hero, but i want healthy players" as he took out duncan.

    What will happen if Spurs and us has the same W-L, same division record and same conference record?
    Who will have the tie break?

    I don't really see it happening. I can't see Portland ending up with the same record as us... but I can see Denver/SA or just Denver. I still don't know what the basis is for tie for winning a division though.

    Rockets. the next tie break is better overall win percentage against western conference playoff teams. I dont know the exact numbers, but we own that tiebreak

    Wish we could have those games we blew at home to the Wizards and Indiana.Then you have Roy's miracle shot to beat us, and blowing a double digit lead in the 4th to the Knicks. We should be 54-24 :cool:

    If SA and Houston win all the games they have left, it would meen that they'll finish with the same division AND conference records.

    Anyone know what would be the next tiebreaker???
